I don't think theres any point in trying to validate which penalty was worse.

Marner's was passion/anger fueled retribution.

Virtanen's two were downright frustration and poor sportsmen like, in other-words, selfish.

I don't think either cost the Team the game, as they played and lost as a TEAM.

Marner was man of the match. Did Virtanen even get a point in the entire tournament?Bottom line is, Marner has hockey smarts. Virtanen has a hockey IQ of 2.

Bad penalties aside the defensive zone coverage and goaltending was brutal.

Bummer about Team Canada but hey - good win for the Canucks last night. And it looks like Brock Boeser will play on...

No I read it properly .

I expected Virtanen to be on fourth line bangers before this tournament started. I have no idea what you were expecting from him, but I knew before it started , he is not suited for this style.

To see him on the top line the whole tournament was mind blowing. He is a banger , he had one goal this year prior. Again what were your expectations.

This team was not that good . They struggled every game.

I don't know what you were expecting but I seen him doing this before he played one minute.

After the 2nd game or so you could see we were going to struggle on the big ice. Traditionally we have never done well on the big surfaces overseas.

But it makes sense to have the Laffs fans here to tell us that Canada's fate lies with one undeveloped prospect...but alas four decades of being the laughing stock of the NHL you'd think one would learn over time...

That's odd, considering you were among the:

"Send him to the WJC so he can "dominate"" crowd.

Virtanen was excellent last year in a more controlled and limited role. He wasn't given any structure and allowed to roam around the ice and get in trouble. His hockey sense and discipline is clearly lacking but a decent coach could have kept him in check.
I still believe he will me a solid NHLer. You don't bust and have his set of skills unless....you party with Kassian at the Roxy

He got moved from the top line to the fourth line last year. How is that excellent?

Exactly . They were holding their own 5 on 4.

The most selfish penalty was the Marner one.
