Yeah, he's really not, it's just that when he (frank)s up, it usually ends up in the back of the net. His positioning is sound, for the most part, he just has a tendency to cough up the puck. And he can't do enough offensively like Risto to cover up some of the rough spots. I'm not comparing the 2. Risto is borderline-elite, but he still has his troubles in his own end. You never hear "WTF Risto! Take your guy out!" when a goal is scored and it's because he didn't do his job.

Also, what ive seen from the canada games is that marner is nowhere near ready for the NHL.

Here's the problem with this team

Moulson
Gionta
Larsson

They all need to go. I still like Girgensons potential but none of these four are worthy of top nine minutes right now in which they are getting. They can't score on obvious chances given to them by Kane, Eichel, O'Riley etc... It's incredibly frustrating when the rest of the team is skating fast and hard and setting up would be goals and seeing Gionta and Moulson and Larsson just whiff on the puck or shoot it wide...
It's starting to go past pathetic to annoying. I like Moulson but either he's on the worst cold streak of his career or he simply doesn't have it anymore. Gionta is done and Larsson had a small streak of solid defensive play but he has about as much offensive touch as Rob Ray.

*Edit* Add Franson to the list. I can't believe it but there's a defenceman on this team playing worse than Weber. After a not too terrible start he's become a defensive liability and a non factor on the PP which is why we signed the guy in the first place..

not really, Toronto is going to explode bc of Marner, most of Canada hockey fans did not like the team as soon as it was announced.

Lowry was a bad coach decision and Team Canada and him picked a terrible roster leaving so much skill off of it.

He was a moron. Deserved to be benched for the last minute. It was a great game though. They're always more enjoyable when the goaltenders struggle.

Agree. How many times can we watch Gionta desperately swat at pucks in front of the net that don't go in? Moulson is invisible out there and Larson is AHL talent.

I wish the NHL Network would simulcast the TSN feed. Their broadcast isn't great. They're not even at the rink.
