Would it be wise for the Pens to deal a good young D for another potential top 6 F? |

Or D... and what I meant is that the habs are most likely searching for some offensive punch they can add to the NHL roster right away - obie
The Habs D is far from ideal. Fans are constantly talking about how amazing it is, but there are no stats to back that up. Is it good? Ya it's decent, but far from a state where it couldn't use improving, and certainly not "one of the best in the league" that some people throw around.
Also, Drouin can play in the NHL, Tampa doesn't want him to for whatever reason, but it's not because he can't. |

I think so. The PENS are in the same boat with Pouliot as TBL seems to be with Drouin, and so I think they are open to the idea. Getting Garrison back will at least be able to hold the boat in a solid #2 pairing role and fill in on PP as well. I think the PENS still need a top 6 guy tbh, and I think Drouin would be perfect. |

never said the D was amazing but it's in the top half of the league, probably in the top 10, with guys like Subban, Beaulieu and Petry around for the long haul and Tinordi and Pateryn in the wings and Juulsen who was just drafted the D is not an area of immediate concern for MB.... and as far as Drouin goes, I didn't say he couldn't play in the NHL but nothing shows that he could jump right into the top 6 in Montreal and produce

That's fair, I'm not saying D is a priority, but there's definitely still quite a bit of room for improvement, obviously scoring is far more urgent though. If they were really I satisfied with him, and he wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg I'd say go for it, as he'd probably still be a better option than some of the current top 6. But no, for the price, not going to help Habs. Though I am always a fan of long term planning and talent. |

Without a doubt he's got the tools to succeed and I wouldn't be opposed to adding him but there's no way they can acquire him without giving up one of Galchenyuk, Beaulieu or McCarron and I sure hope MB doesn't do that... some Hab fans suggestions of Eller and Tinordi is just non sense

Drouin can play in the NHL but can he play top 6? He was drafted for top 6 and will want that role and that money and so far has not proven he can play that. |

Go play for the Crunch and show your worth. I'm not sure Yzerman is going to trade him. |

Nothing, I don't think he wants to be taken like Sather. Said offer is actually pretty fair. Of course Drouin reaching his potential could change that but he could also bust.... So.... |
