any rumors on what they would want for him? - i'mjustafan
what kind of site do you think this is....no time for roomers |

My opinion is he has very good speed and amazing hands. He seems to not see the game well or the game just moves slightly too fast for him because he makes a lot of mistakes. He can't be trusted in big games or situations. I don't think the coach is helping him all that much even though Drouin started the year on the first line and Killorn, who played well in the playoffs on the top line, started on the 3rd line. Drouin would turn the puck over far too much to keep his spot then he got injured.
Top 9, sure he can skate and handle the puck. He was drafted 3rd overall so he was drafted to not be top 9 or even top 6 but top 3. He is not top 3 right now. He is still cheap and very young so he can get a return but I highly doubt big return or I think we would have seen Yzerman pull the trigger already. All are just my opinion of course, I've seen him the past two years pretty much every game. - Kucherovski

Yeah, no. CBJ benefit in no way from that. - vertigo1061
Only if looking to move Johansen. It's hard to get top quality back... might be a good opportunity. |

How can you know that for sure without knowing what the "plus" is? - obie
Reason is that the biggest need for CBJ is a top 3 dman. So if you trade your #1 center for a good, young prospect you're not getting a top 3 dman and you're creating a hole at the center position. The trade just wouldn't make sense in my mind. Only way I see CBJ moving Ryan Johansen (right now) is if it makes them much better defensively or you get an equal value center. Otherwise, they'll just hold on to him and hope he turns it around and if he doesn't trade him next year before his RFA deal negotiations. |

I like avs for this one. They have people to trade and need to improve. Could be a good player for a decent price. Plus there are a couple of Avs players that might do a lot better with TB. Yzerman is an amazing GM. Those teams would make sense. Montreal wouldn't surpise me either. They are good at taking little from whining players (look at Kassian). They would have less to fear than most teams if he brought an attitude to dressing room. |

I don't blame Yzerman for keeping this under wraps, but clearly makes it tougher to believe anything he says about Stammer now. |

Everyone wants to drop to their knees in front of Stevie and pucker up but has there been another GM with as many high profile guys looking to get out of Tampa?
Competitive team, Florida weather...what's the problem? It's Tampa Bay, not Thunder Bay. |

Taking a team with one 1st overall to the SCF versus a team with 3 prior to this season to not even a playoff berth???
I guess it could be worse... |

The problem isnt Yzerman, its Cooper. Believe me i have it on good word that its Coop that doesnt like him and then another very reliable source told me he's a primadonna in the locker room and has been cancerous.

I'm not sure we know anything to be honest. Marty wanted out, he claimed it was for family reasons so maybe it was just a coincidence he left after the Olympic snub. Stamkos has never once said he did not want to stay in Tampa, he has actually always said the opposite. Name the other "high profile guy" looking to get out. You can't consider Drouin a high profile guy because all he did was get drafted high.
I am not saying you're wrong either I am saying we as the casual fan have no idea. The job of Yzerman is to make the Lightning competitive every year as Jeff Vinik has a goal of being a world class organization. Yzerman has to weigh the benefits of signing big dollar guys in a small market to big, long term contracts. Because he keeps everything off of the internet does not make him a bad GM. He has actually, I think, done pretty well. Bishop was a Vezina finalist and he got him for Conacher. Kucherov was selected 58th and Palat was selected 207. Those two guys could be long term pieces of the Bolts and they were drafted by Yzerman and developed slowly. Yzerman was able to sign Stralman to a deal in Tampa as well as Boyle, two guys who played for a cup in NY but decided to come to Tampa.

As a Flyers fan seeing the comments for Carle and Coburn are priceless. I hated those two on the Flyers so much I moved from the Flyers D zone in the First and Third to the O zone those two periods. This from a guy who loves watching the way defensemen play. Most games that were either a tie or a one goal lead late one those two would make the stupidest pass known to man and hit the opposition right in front of the net on the tape for the game changing goal. |
