The D in the draft this year are better then last years. I've seen Jake Bean play twice now, he's ranked in the lower end of the first round in most drafts. He's good. Reminded me of Hamuis back when Van first signed him. Also second in scoring in the WHL for D

Hall is a top 5 LW in league regardless of what people think of the OIL or not.

Banning gets a 2nd first round pick then Van 2 Firsts and 2 Seconds (thank you torts) Second round picks should be top 10 too. Columbus still sucks. As long as Benning doesn't trade them away

Columbus hAs the option to give us the 2nd this draft or next I believe. Considering how bad they stink this year I'd imagine they keep their pick and give us next year , when they likely are higher in the standings.

I'm not sure they will....but they were projected to be a playoff team this year and crapped the bed. If they stay bottom 5 I really don't see them handing that high 2nd rounder off......but I sure wish they do

On another note I have a thought. .....
if we make the playoffs I'll be happy unless we get swept, if we miss however(not top three in the Pacific) we will most likely be bottom 6 in the league(even if we miss by a point) due to us losing all the tie breakers.
If we get in we will pick first of all the playoff teams and we get to tag on the leafs and oil and flamers for not making it
I would rather pick 16th then face the shame of having any of those teams better then us.
With all this being said I'm as happy as an orgasming clam no matter which way it goes(unless the Pacific somehow gets good for the back half).

On another note grenier is up.
And 1040 morning show is a beast of legendary proportions. .... very depressing how they are still piling on to virtanen, they sound like leaf fans

1040 is a roller coaster of artificial drama and must events that are indicators of larger trends that define the team in a stereotypical way. at any time there is a perceived error in a view or forecast, it is not the opinion that is wrong but outside factors beyond a newsreaders control or expectations that has thrown the game (division) into chaos. real life is not a true indicator of reasonable expectations. this can't be happening, or at least it shouldn't.
