I don't understand why there is so much hate for Kesler. He was good for us while he played here and continues to be good for us.
He got us to SCF. Gave us many years of great moments either cheering him or defending his actions. And still is giving us more. He gave us Sutter and JM. He gave us cap riddance in moving KB. (for anyone that thinks KB would have accepted a move there without Kesler there is insane) And now he gave a an open roster post to do what everyone here is clamoring that we should do at TDL. He opened up a spot for a kid to get a shot and if the kid can prove it then Prust can become expandable at TDL. Win Win. |

If you win the lottery how do the picks work for the remaining rounds? do they pick first in the 2nd round? or 9th? |

I think you'd go back to 9th in the second round |

9th I believe. The lottery only applies to 1st round. |

1040 is a roller coaster of artificial drama and must events that are indicators of larger trends that define the team in a stereotypical way. at any time there is a perceived error in a view or forecast, it is not the opinion that is wrong but outside factors beyond a newsreaders control or expectations that has thrown the game (division) into chaos. real life is not a true indicator of reasonable expectations. this can't be happening, or at least it shouldn't.
I should have saved this for tomorrow. - hillbillydeluxe

Yes…but lets be honest, this is a place where we can come and discuss all the things we don't actually know. That's what makes it fun.
For the record I don't know poop, but that doesn't preclude me from having an opinion. - LeftCoaster

Would you rather face this shame now or next season? or the season after. This is going to happen no matter what the way we are going. I would rather get a high end talent now and compete when they are competing and see good hockey for years to come, than get demolished by them, every season after this one until we get our top 5 picks. - Retinalz
I don't know if this will make sense but here goes.
I would rather be a better team until such a time that those teams are no longer a joke. If they are better then us while they are such horrible franchises then we are a bigger joke then them.
I trust that jb will pick a better player at 45ov them the oil will pick at 34 ov.
It's pretty much the one thing that jb is great at. |

I'm insane.
Kesler is a knob. No doubt he is a good player with a little grit or edge, goes over the line at times. The type of player you want on your team. When they are no longer on your team, fans can have differing opinions. Anyone that requests a trade should be shown the door when a reasonable move is worked out.
as per Kesler netting us this or that return and a roster spot, being a former team mate playing on the ducks- a possible trade partner, I don't think that can be all attributed to Kesler, it is just making the best out of the situation. getting on with life. Would the situation have been any worse if it was a different player of his stature asking for a trade? A top 6 player on another team? We all knew he was a sh!t when he played for us, now he is someone else's sh!t.
KB wouldn't accept a move anywhere he didn't want to go. he is getting paid well and was able to sign an extension. I'm sure there are a few other places he would have okay'd a move to. his time here was done. He must have some other friends around the league, playing for other teams....
Didn't Kesler give Dorsett a concussion with the blind side hit last season? Injure Prust last game? It really doesn't matter how you remember him, he doesn't care.

He had already agreed to waive for San Jose, a team that was not projected to be anywhere near as good as Anahiem at the time. I don't think Kesler had anything to do with it. |

Well the niners are a mess right now but Tomsula has been there since 2007. Besides, $10 million is peanuts in a league that will charge teams $550 million to relocate. |

It's a lot of money for an individual season is all, unless you're the mighty Babcock. |

Ah, World Juniors. Where early leads mean nothing.
Russia just scored two quick goals, heading towards the end of the second period.
Oh yeah - Canucks have a big game tonight! That's the main focus of today's new blog:
