I'm insane.

Kesler is a knob. No doubt he is a good player with a little grit or edge, goes over the line at times. The type of player you want on your team. When they are no longer on your team, fans can have differing opinions. Anyone that requests a trade should be shown the door when a reasonable move is worked out.

as per Kesler netting us this or that return and a roster spot, being a former team mate playing on the ducks- a possible trade partner, I don't think that can be all attributed to Kesler, it is just making the best out of the situation. getting on with life. Would the situation have been any worse if it was a different player of his stature asking for a trade? A top 6 player on another team? We all knew he was a sh!t when he played for us, now he is someone else's sh!t.
KB wouldn't accept a move anywhere he didn't want to go. he is getting paid well and was able to sign an extension. I'm sure there are a few other places he would have okay'd a move to. his time here was done. He must have some other friends around the league, playing for other teams....

Didn't Kesler give Dorsett a concussion with the blind side hit last season? Injure Prust last game? It really doesn't matter how you remember him, he doesn't care.

maybe I care a little too much..

I am not saying that he is not a knob. But I would rather things play out the way it did then what happened to Toronto and Sundin. The way he plays has not changed from his time here and we have defended his plays many times. That does not change. I don't like having personal attachments to players thus my comments. He was great when he was here and we were able to make something out of nothing when he didn't want to be here.
We have a coach that loves to play Prust in key moments in a game regardless of the outcome and we have dedicated pages upon pages complaining about the usage from WD but the only way that we know a change was going to happen was with an injury.
I am not supporting the injury but like I said I am not the one to have any attachments to players. You played great for us, now that your use for me is diminishing, it is time for you to call your real estate agent because you are moving. Benning is Kinda like that, but unfortunately the Aquilanis are more about the name on the back then the logo on the front.
Linden was great but he got us a boatload, Bure got us Jovo, Bert got us Lou. All I am saying is as big a player or a big douche all these guys got us something back in return. And I am happy the Kesler got us something that we can look forward to in return.
That is why I am on team Vantel and say sell the Sedins and get something in return because there are a ton of GM's there that will trade for the name on the back.

And the KB thing was a reach. I was stirring some poop.

I will concede the return from the Kesler trade will be fine as long as McCann becomes a regular and Sbisa doesn't lose it. But the guy is still a knob.

nothing against you hillbilly, more-so a comment to the collective....reading posts lately I cant believe people are STILL debating this trade a year and a half later. Why? It's over and done and nothing can change it....the female doging and moaning that seems to be a constant here wont get more return either.

I think we did ok in the trade... given the circumstances JB was handed with a 1 team trade demand JB did excellent wouldnt everyone agree?

People continue female doging about corrado even, yet I know if he were here still we'd be demanding he'd be shipped out then more whining about the return. Boy you'd think this was an old wives forum....bunch of friggin old girls here unhappy with whatever happens and female dog and moan whatever direction things go. Too much estrogen and progesterone in you guys wow

there is some of that.

I think the Kesler trade in that post was meant to be reflected as a positive to come from that situation. and I don't want to give Kesler any credit beyond him being a good player, can't see him being admired in any other way.

the truth is I am all over the place with this team. I acknowledge, losing and higher draft picks would go a long way towards a rebuild. But if we can get everyone healthy, i think we could be a playoff team. It is more fun to see them winning than losing. I'm still hoping the team wins, guys score and do well, which I've heard means a longer rebuild...

Also with some guys getting healthy, I wonder if we will see any moves? If we are carrying both McCann and JV for the remainder of the season are we going to see some more guys exposed on waivers or does it all work out with emergency call ups?

Even though I am not expecting a cup run, watching guys develop here and in Utica and possible/pending/anticipated roster moves and decisions has my interest.

I think posters are on here for debate, some playful trolling, and sometimes a totally invested emotional outlet of delusional team love homer outpouring and then realize later, it was a bit much. "I don't care, I am going to enjoy my cup of coffee" guys died in vietnam for hb and the internet.

Again it wasnt really your post Im directing any comment at....more a string of them all about the kesler trade.
This used to be a better place where we had actually intelligent debate amongst the members, now it seems theres only a few of us that do that....it's mostly now a whine fest about everything that happens and has happened in several years. I get to the point I disappear for almost a week at a time then come back hoping to see some of the old ways here I used to enjoy....we've had some great ones in the past and Im sure that will continue with the long term members like ourselves and vantel etc.

I agree with you that I'd like to see the team winning. Losing is a habit and can hobble the team for years. Look at the oilers and leafs, carolina etc. Losing is not a good option for any team. Tanking is just plain retarded.

I also agree that we can be a competitive team. And lets face it, playoff experience is important to a developing team of youngsters. M issing that is never a good option.

I think some tweaks here and there would change a lot....coaching for one. Some new D as well as keeping pedan. I'd say gaunce could really add here too....adding grit and spark. But a trade target like RJ or otehrs could really change it all....could be what takes us to another level upwards.

But still it's not cool to see how so many guys here have their uterus's in full complain mode. It's like 95% of all posts.
So....new topic. Who do you realistically want the canucks to add to the team?

The tone of the board has changed a bit. some people jump on each other at the first opportunity.

Not sure if it is the down after riding high for so long.

I still feel better about the direction, the future, more than the present. But still want to see players do well. happy with a win, disappointed when the team doesn't show up.

It was really bad in here after the Sutter trade. been a little busy lately, reading through some of the pages, I have started typing a response, stopped myself and just back paged away...

I gave you a lame answer for trade targets in the new thread. I haven't looked at the list for pending ufa's. and am undecided whether you target individual players or a pool of similar players during ufa.

We need to address depth on defense, draft a top pairing dman, top 6 wingers, and if we can somehow land a top line centre, I haven't seen enough from Horvat or McCann to say we have one there.
