Like Schenn 5th, Biggs 22nd and Gauthier 21st right...? - lumlums
Top 5 picks work out more often than any other pick outside the top 5. Sometimes the pick doesnt work out because the player didnt care, sometimes he gets ruin by the team that drafts because they weren't ready to be the #1 centre, or the #1 dman playing 30 mins a game. |

No…nothing like that? I don't see a generational goal scorer in that list, unless you've got it hidden somewhere? |

Poor Jakes getting hammered in the print media, Botch is sticking up for him though. People make so much of of a kid not performing well or being emotional at the age of 19.
Team Canada lost because as a whole, they weren't very good, including their goaltending, which was below average. - LeftCoaster
That was (frank)ing brutal... I mean, it's all fun and games on here where we have a captive audience of a dozen of us fools, but to put that poop out there into the national media is really (frank)ing irresponsible. |

I would be happy enough with Austin Mathews and the 2017 first overall - VANTEL
I'd be happy with two or three top five picks to be honest, as long as Benning doesn't perform anymore of his wonderful trades and try to get ahead of the curve? |

True that. JV will be just fine turning into a 2nd line rw 20+ goals and 180+ hits. That's all i ask out of him. He would also take a discount to remain with his team when contract times come. |

And sometimes you get lucky and trade that player for a better player because some foolish GM does deals after a few glasses of scotch |

The pressure the media puts on these kids is terrible, Ron Wilson was correct in his comments on the unrealistic expectations and pressure put on these kids.
Jim Sandlak is a prime example of a kid who had a lights out tourney, named MVP if I remember correctly, yet his NHL career was less than stellar. Although I think it would have been better if he hadn't been injured. |

I'm with Steaming on you need to get back to work, far to much time analyzing could of, would of, should of scenarios.
You are going from even keeled, thoughtful posts to...dare I say, Nucker extremism. You have no idea what JB could have gotten without being a part in the process. Pure speculation doesn't mean that he didn't need to do this, that or whatever dreamed up scenario fans come up with. |

well maybe I got up on the wrong side of the bed. Trust me, I'm patient and believe in the process, BUT, I don't like some of what Jim Benning has done.
I'm still thoughtful though, I haven't disrespected anyone and won't unless they attack me first. Except Lums, he's got more rope lol. |

Exactly. The team was going nowhere anyway you could see that after the 2nd or 3rd game. To hang everything on Virtanen and a few dumb penalties is just stupid. Plus a coaching error really cost them vs Fins. After we let in the third goal the goalie should have been pulled. 2/3 were super weak look what it did for the Fins major mojo shift...
I'm sorry but .798 isn't a great save %? |
