I'd trade Simmonds, Sanheim and 3 1st rounders for him

Provorov makes the right play almost 100% of the time. Even when it's the easy play, he does it with such poise. Slows down the game and dictates the pace.

Hell, if we ever lost a game, the other team's entire roster and coaching staff would "mysteriously" go missing.

It's almost authoritarian how well he dictates the play.

My only concern with this D lineup is in regards to the PK and overall defending down low. I guess the PK can't get much worse so nothing to lose there, but man, a D featuring MDZ, Streit, Medvedev, Ghost, Schultz and Gudas is both undersized and, with the exception of Gudas, soft as hell.
- BiggE

Agreed. Del Zotto, Streit, Ghost and Medvedev to me are considered "Offensive defensemen" and aren't great defensively. I think the PK will be lucky to not get scored on. Ghost with the free pass from the last game. I would have sat Medvedev.

With MDZ back I think Haksol should sit whoever has a bad game on 'D' he doesn't have that option with the forwards as Vinney is his only option , but Medvdev had a bad game against the Ducks Ghost had a bad California trip was in penalty box for three PP goals against and some bad decisions , although still good on P.P. Streit could fill in again, if Hack sat these guys once in a while might make them all more accountable .
For the forwards maybe move Schenn and the free pass off of G's line , and doubt if Vinney could be any worst than Umberger.

One thing I was thinking about watching the west coast games was just the flyers lack of size. Even Simmonds while tall, isn't big. Now this is totally different then Drouin because he isn't big but the Flyers need more size and skill. Drouin would help in the skill side. But they need some size in that lineup
- J35Bacher

They need one of these finn kids or Tkachuk from this draft. Big skilled hard working wingers. Its not every draft where you see size and skill on the wing going so high in a good draft. Feels like its taylor made for the flyers needs and were gonna screw it up

Yeah. We really need to target some left wingers to start to address that area. I know it's always best player, but make the best player a lw.

They went 10-2-2 and gained 3 points in the standings. They followed with an 0-3-0 trip and dropped 4 pts. Do you think this team has a couple more 10-2-2s in them or several 0-3-0s?

The way things usually go they'll get pushed back to 7 or 8 in the draft by the lottery anyway.

Ghost has sort of fallen back to earth lately as teams have gotten a book on him.

It would be in the best interest of the team to get Streit back on the top PP unit. The entrance/break out isn't as good with Ghost lately. Ghost is also missing the net. Not a knock on him. I'd just like to less skating from him and simplifying his game on the PP.

Im not sure what I want them to do now. I know I don't want any loser points. I agree they'll be in that 6-11 range

But looking at goal differential they are next to dead last.

Yep. That's why everyone harps on being 5 or more points out by Thanksgiving. All those extra points being passed out make it almost impossible to make up the distance once you get behind.

I agree. I think the 2nd PP unit would greatly benefit from ghosts creativity. Its not needed on the top one

I don't know. They seem to not win board battles lately on entry. I like Ghost there as he is more of a threat then Streit in my opinion. I wouldn't mind having Couturier on the point with Gostisbehere. A more traditional type umbrella. Couturier played the point during time with the Phantoms.

Or maybe use Streit and Gostisbehere on the point and use a more shooting style PP.

The current point system is deceiving in that way. 5 points doesn't seem like a lot, but it really is difficult to come back from. Anything more than 4 points at the trade deadline and you should probably just be a seller.

A couple more losses on this current losing streak, and it's pretty much all she wrote.
