All depends on what team wants him and what the draft is looking like. Is the #20 pick projected to be better this year or next? Or can we get the 1st this year and package it for a higher pick? Can we get a top prospect instead?

Being a GM would make my head spin. Every move you make you have to be thinking 5 moves ahead and factor in every "if" scenario plus balance a cap budget for the next 10 years. Plus handle the minor leagues team and keep an eye on all the prospects. I'll take playing GM on HB with you guys....

Really no idea how the 2017 draft would be outside of the first 5-10 picks. It's hard to really project who would be available around a particular spot 18 months before the draft. Guys who look like studs might drop like rocks. Guys who are unheralded might rise-Sanheim and Provorov are in that category.

In the 2016 draft, in the 20's, there's some solid prospects. Maybe a guy like Tyler Benson or Alex DeBrincat drops. Should have no problem getting a decent scoring wing like Carl Grundstrom in the mid-20's. Big center Logan Brown might last until then as well.

Like Benson & Brown

I'll add Kale Clague (teammate of Provorov), Olli Juolevi, Max Jones, Charlie McAvoy, Jake Bean (teammate of Sanheim), Sam Steel, & Luke Kunin

He's going to look so good when he's winning the Art Ross for Quebec in 2020

... showcase him for the TDL
- arichardson22

I really never understood the whole showcasing idea... at least for a guy who's been around as long as Streit... I think teams know what's he's about by now, lol.

In his case to show that he's recovered from his injury and that age hasn't become a serious factor as yet.

FYI: Drouin isn't only player from 2013 NHL Draft to request trade. Per @Aportzline, Kerby Rychel asked CBJ for trade before season started.

It's funny, somebody just retweeted a string of Don Cherry tweets shredding Tallon for passing up Drouin or Jones to take Barkov 2nd overall

I don't really get the feeling that GM's make veteran acquisitions based on how guys have looked recently... it seems more based on history/reputation.

True. Chicago didn't need to see Kimmo play before giving up a couple picks for him last season.

Brett Connolly on Drouin situation: "It'€™s not going to be given to you no matter how high a draft pick you are."

This was a concern of mine, if Drouin feels he deserves the job because he was a high pick, it's troubling. Although he says he plans to report to Syracuse, so maybe it can be mended. I blame the agent more, Walsh is like Drew Rosenhaus, likes to see his face on TV

Well I can't see or respond to Walsh on twitter. I must have upset him in the past.

Odd for Connolly to be the one saying that, considering he was handed the spot next to MSL/Vinny from day 1, lol.
