I wouldn't trade this year's 1st unless it was protected. I also think I wouldn't trade Simmonds, especially with a top tier prospect(which I'd consider Porvorov, Konecny, Morin and Sanheim to be).
As far as Drouin's stock, that is the really valid question. I mean, the kid was drafted 2 years ago, seen as a potential elite/franchise winger and has produced at the NHL level. But there also seem to be maturity issues or at least communication issues. And if he is that good, even with Tampa Bay's depth you wonder why he's not playing so well they have no choice but to dress him and play him a load of minutes.
I'd probably be good with Brayden Schenn, a prospect like Hagg or Aube Kubel and a 2nd rounder for him. More than that and the risk might be too much. - Jsaquella
Too rich for my blood. Plus I don't see how Tampa accepts a second round pick for a former high first round pick. I would assume Yzerman needs a first in return in there. |

So then why do I need to offer a high first rounder and top prospect for him? If I was offering a major package. Like 1st rounder Simmonds morin or whatever was talked about, I would be aiming for someone like Sam Bennett. He has showed me more at the NHL level then Drouin.
Right now I don't know how high his value is. SO it's hard for me to build a huge package for him. - J35Bacher
You don't need to. But that's up to the other GMs if they want to over pay for Drouin. Everyone said MSL wouldn't fetch a lot with his situation of demanding a trade and even specifying only NYR but they got a good return for a aging veteran winger with a high cap. Drouin is still on his ELC and a kid. I don't think Bolts will have trouble getting a hefty return IF they do decide to trade him |

I would part with that package in a cocaine heartbeat for Drouin. Not sure the Bolts would even consider it. Seems like it's becoming a toxic situation in TB, they may have to move him. - PLindbergh31
That's what I'd be hoping for if I was the Flyers.
If I'm Tampa, what would I want? I'd want Simmonds, Sanheim or Morin and a high pick. What would I settle for? Maybe one of Simmonds and Sanheim or Morin and a high pick, and then get either Schenn(if the Flyers agreed to Sanheim or Morin) or Hagg (if the Flyers agreed to Simmonds).
I don't think Hextall agrees to deal Simmonds or Sanheim/Morin. |

I'm not giving up Simmonds, B.Schenn, Ghost, Morin, Sanheim or Provorov for Drouin. I'm willing to give up a first round pick and sweetening the pot with a project player such as Hagg or Laughton but that's it...and I still think this is an overpayment. Anything beyond this is a no sale. - SuperSchennBros

It shouldn't be too rich, because it's really an underpayment.
And yes, I think there's no way Yzerman agrees. He's got no reason to sell low. |

Building up this team's defense is incredibly important for the future of this team. The more top prospects we have, the better the chances of that happening. With how much more important defenseman are to start with, coupled with this teams major weakness, it's mind boggling to me why anyone would include one of them in a trade for Drouin. |

Yeah, for a package like that, I'd be going after some other guys (Bennett, Draisaitl, or I'd go all-out for Gaudreau). - jmatchett383
I like Gaudreau but rather have Bennett.
I wouldn't mind the Flyers trying to get a guy like Ferland if they could in some type of deal. |

If Hexy walked away from a deal that was rumored involving Simmonds prospect(s) and 1st for Panthers #1 overall I don't think he does that for #3 overall from couple years ago who isn't even on the NHL roster |

If you trade B.Schenn and think you have a replacement for him on the PP in Raffl, the Power Play goes back to being irrelevant. Schenn has his issues and even though I think he needs more touching of the puck on the PP, there is no better option in that spot right now. |

Exactly, that's why I think a demand for Simmonds, or even Sanheim or Morin, gets turned down by Hextall. He's going to kick tires just because of the potential and organizational need Drouin fills, but I doubt he's willing to pay what the market will bear to get him. |

And they can.
But I don't need the team to overpay. Also why would other teams feel the need to help the lightening out. They will need cap space to sign either Stamkos or all the other players that are coming up. The lightening will probably be looking for multiple picks and ELC type players.
I make my offer. If someone beats it ok or I let the lightening deal with their own problems with Drouin. |

The deal wouldn't be about the PP for this year.
The deal for Drouin would be about building the team for the future. |

I wouldn't trade Sanheim. I'd consider Simmonds, or Morin. Simmonds is a nice player, he adds sandpaper to a pretty soft lineup, I almost view him as a PP specialist at this point. He isn't scoring at ES (neither is anyone else for that matter). I wasn't expecting a good year out of the Flyers this season, but I'm pretty surprised they are 29th in scoring. Hard to fathom. |

Would he? Can Drouin make that shot that Hartnell and Schenn have been able to from within the middle of the box? I'm not seeing a lot of scoring from Drouin at this level yet. It's a tricky shot when G feeds him. |

Aren't they something like 26th in the NHL in PP%?
I actually think Drouin would outscore Schenn right now if he were placed with Giroux and given top PP minutes. |

Because Drouin already has a 30-point season in limited minutes as a 19-year-old, the Flyers' highest-scoring natural LW has eight points this season and they have nothing in the system to move him down with, the Flyers have Ghost and Provorov, with Morin developing.
It's not rocket science. The Flyers haven't had a scoring LW since JVR got moved, and they desperately need one. Drouin has put up points in the NHL on a team where he likely hates the coach. Sanheim, while a significant prospect, is still in junior and no one knows if he will ever make it.
Again, you don't have to do the deal. But that's what Yzerman is gonna be looking for, around that value range. maybe he does take a B-prospect, but I don't think he will |

So far Drouin looks like a dangerous scorer.
It seems to me he needs the development time based on what he's done at the pro level, including scoring. |
