Brayden Schenn just isn't that good. I don't think he'll ever be any better than the 5th or 6th best forward on any team. Drouin has a chance to be one of the two or three best players on a good team. - PhillySportsGuy
So did Schenn once upon a time. |

Easily the best option we have. - SuperSchennBros
That's not what I asked. One of L. Schenn, Schultz, or MDZ is the best we have to anchor a top-pair, but they're not suited to that spot. |

Oh my a 30 point NHL season! Brayden Schenn who was a 5th overall pick has had a 20 goal and 40+ point seasons and you want to get rid of him. Now Drouin certainly has more potential but that's all it is at this point. It's also not rocket science how important the top defense prospects are to this team moving forward. - MJL
Yeah, because Brayden Schenn still is an inconsistent player. He always has been. The difference between Droiin and Schenn is that the Flyers have nothing to replace Schenn with.
Someone will score goals if you give them prime opportunities to do so. Schenn's done OK. Nothing special, and yes, I absolutely would try to upgrade him at every opportunity

Depends on whether you think Drouin is an improvement. Offensively, I think he is. As far as play away from the puck and off the ice, I don't know. I'd take the chance if B. Schenn was the centerpiece of the trade (Schenn + X) as opposed to an "included" piece (X + Schenn). |

I don't what the kid's mind is like, but he's so clearly better than any LW the Flyers have, it's actually pretty comical - AllInForFlyers
Yeah. He's exactly the type of player the Flyers would like to add to go along with this rebuild. I also think the Flyers have a good group forwards who can provide leadership. Playing for a team where mistakes won't result in playoff losses will probably help his development as well.
I've been very happy with Hak having the patience to keep putting Ghost out even when he's making mistakes. He needs to make those mistakes and he needs to know the coach will go back to him when he does. |

This is a fact. This post right here.
Most of you want to stick as much dynamite as you can find under this team and blow up this team for potential. Give up crappy Schenn and of our prized prospect for the potential.
This all sounds ludicrous to me. |

Do you think Berube would have Ghost sitting based on his mistakes a la MDZ last year? |

So did Schenn once upon a time. - SuperSchennBros
Except he didn't. He was ranked highly in a pretty average class. Drouin was ranked at the top of a very deep and talented draft class. Go back and look, most of the 2009 draft reports had Schenn pegged as a potential high end number 2 center.
Drouin was pegged as a potential elite winger. |

Drouin has outscored Schenn at every step of development. Also, just because one top prospect doesn't develop into a star doesn't mean all of them won't. |

Hey, I understand that we all have our biases and opinions, and that's what makes this board really fun.
But someone is gonna spell it out for me why I should feel grateful to have anyone on this roster who has them closer to 30th overall than a playoff spot.
Brayden Schenn isn't the answer to any question we have about this roster. He's here. I don't rip him like I used to. But he's no solution to any problem we have, and I am sorry that he is not, because we really needed him to be more than he is |

Higher pt/60 despite playing on the 4th line and getting no pp time - PhillySportsGuy
Move a player up and he's suddenly playing against higher competition. His p/60 will also be diluted with more ice time. That stat is very misleading and needs to be taken with a grain of salt so to speak.

Answer: Given what they have, Schenn is the best suited for that spot. I guess implied answers are too much for you to grasp. |

Maybe not sitting, but I think he'd be giving him very limited minutes. Berube coached like each game was a playoff game. |
