Easily the best option we have. - SuperSchennBros
Tsn analysts taking about provorov and just raving. Said that Wilson might want to know who he is and then later saying that provorov has been a superstar for Russia so far this tourney. High praise. I wonder if Hextall has been impressed seeing him live. |

Doesn't mean Drouin will either. - MJL
You're right. There are no guarantees that Drouin will. It's all a matter of what you think each player's ceiling is. I feel that Drouin has a higher ceiling that Schenn. Others may disagree. |

Yeah, because Brayden Schenn still is an inconsistent player. He always has been. The difference between Droiin and Schenn is that the Flyers have nothing to replace Schenn with.
Someone will score goals if you give them prime opportunities to do so. Schenn's done OK. Nothing special, and yes, I absolutely would try to upgrade him at every opportunity - AllInForFlyers
That really misses the point in using Schenn as an example

Bill, your thoughts on Drouin mirror mine. He very well may be a great NHL player at some point but I really am leery about moving a NHL player (Simmonds) and high picks/prospects for him. and actually if I was Yzerman, I wouldn't move him at this point. The kid needs to go down to Syracuse and earn a call up |

Someone posted something a few days back where Hexy gave his thoughts on the WJC kids. Had nothing but crazy praise for Provorov. |

Potentially wise sure he does but why is that? It's because there is more of a sample size fo Schenn in the NHL and Drouin is still an infant in the league

Hey, I understand that we all have our biases and opinions, and that's what makes this board really fun.
But someone is gonna spell it out for me why I should feel grateful to have anyone on this roster who has them closer to 30th overall than a playoff spot.
Brayden Schenn isn't the answer to any question we have about this roster. He's here. I don't rip him like I used to. But he's no solution to any problem we have, and I am sorry that he is not, because we really needed him to be more than he is - AllInForFlyers
The trouble is, Schenn is just a guy. He's a solid middle six guy, and he's far from a bad player, but he's just a guy. He's reaching the age now where he's in danger of remaining just a guy for the balance of his career. You can only bank that "used to be called the best player outside the NHL" stuff for so long.
He's 24 now, not ancient, but he's still basically the same guy he was two years ago. Just a guy. Still very inconsistent, still prone to disappearing totally when he's not scoring. Subpar defensively, doesn't exactly stand out at anything...just a solid middle six guy. |

Move a player up and he's suddenly playing against higher competition. His p/60 will also be diluted with more ice time. That stat is very misleading and needs to be taken with a grain of salt so to speak. - MJL
Giving him PP time and elite scorers will dilute his numbers? Why would playing more minutes dilute his pt/60? |

Sounds like the lines from the end of the Kings game are sticking. I'm excited to see if Couturier and BSchenn can get something going. |

What else is Brayden Schenn suppose to be? Even in the arguments against Schenn, it sounds like you as well as many overrate what you expect of him. We already spent all of last summer having the Schenn vs Saad debate. Schenn came up smelling like a rose on a lesser offensive roster. |

I (personally) think that B. Schenn is approaching a known quantity, which is a middle 6 winger (who will want a raise next year). I think that Drouin has question marks, but is an unknown quantity (who still has another year on his ELC). Sure Drouin could bust or become a cancer, but I'd take a shot on him. Just my feelings. |

Put Schenn on the 4th line with no PP minutes and see what happens to his point totals. |

Simply because it's possible that his point totals don't grow at the rate that his minutes played does. Or is that not a possibility? He already has been given PP time.

I proposed Schenn + Cousins.
Right now for Drouin I wouldn't trade any top d prospect or 1st rounder. |

Right. Most people are proposing Schenn + B prospect/project/2nd rounder types of deals.I've seen 2 people include Schenn with an A prospect. |

Is Drouin suited for that spot? - SuperSchennBros
He's best in Jake's spot on the PP, so you have a point there. |

"Did I make a great draft pick or what?"
- Feanor
When NJ drafted Zacha, I had this mental picture of Hextall running up to the podium, shoving people to the ground on the way, and, before Zacha even getting up there, saying, "PROVOROV! WE'RE TAKING PROVORV!" |

I'll second that.
I am at the point I would move Schenn in a deal that would provide potential to the Flyers. I know potential is tough to sell but I feel that based on where this team is I can take that chance.

Brayden Schenn might get traded this year. If he does, he might end up on a team that puts him in a spot he can thrive in. |
