I get the feeling that management is thinking "Well we're injured, but once those guys come back we'll be actually good"

I really hope that Virtanen goes back to the WHL and once Sutter is healthy that Vey takes over McCann's spot and he goes back to OHL.

Heck, I'd even explore sending Bo and Hutton to the AHL, even for a little, and running Hank-Sutter-Vey-Cracknell down the middle.

I think its fair to call that into question when Derek Dorsett leads your team in ice time when trailing.

As for the last part, I'd kill to get some mind reading ability to know what they're honest assessment is of the team if all the indications are that ownership is like "We don't care if we're swept, we want at least the 5-6 mil in playoff revenue"

No one knows for sure if thats their line of thinking, but I feel we're ~two more losses away from a radio spot/presser where they say "Well you know injuries and if we were healthy we'd be real good so we're just gonna manage the team as if it was healthy and real good because Winning Environment is real good for the young guys that are slowly but surely getting buried as the season has worn on"

This comment kills me. Your job as a coach is to find a gameplan and make adjustments to create room. Not just play Derek Dorsett.

And Arizona stinks defensively. They give up the most goals per game in the league and surrender like the 6th most shots.

I have heard before that Dorsett gets plenty of ice time when down a goal but all I ever see is the Sedins..I wonder how reliable the data is

thats right. I've been saying this stuff for awhile now and people dont seem to understand what a coaches job really is. Coaches dont just create line combos.

Hockey is much like chess...you need a game strategy designed against that specific opponent...depending on your opponents moves you have to tinker with that plan...perhaps even abandoning it if need be and go to something else.

what is clear to me from watching games is not only is there no tinkering, there's no game plan to start with. Esp on D.
