Truthfully , I am hoping he works out. I like Benning so it would be nice to see his unusual moves work out. Everyone starts out by laughing at him but later say Oh Not Bad |

Agreed, I like him too, his Sutter trade he is looking good from and appears we did need him, now jsut need him to come back |

I find Bennings honesty refreshing . Yesterday they asked him how he was, he replied today I am just ok. No rehearsed answers. He speaks what is on his mind.
He said the trade market is dry. Teams don't want old players. They want our young players and picks. He said that is not going to happen. He also said for Johansen and Douin , both teams want too much in return and that will not happen.
With this guy it's slow and steady wins the race.
He says they are too proud to tank. What he didn't mention was they are too bad to win. He is not making any knee jerk moves.
We have a few nice additions this year and future hopefuls with Demko and Boeser. We also have a few mysteries like Pedan Tryamkin Jasek Neill and Brisebos
I think this year is playing out as it should. I think this years draft pick will be top 3 and NHL ready. |

I hope when Sutter comes back he plays top line and we move Hansen to Bo and Svens line. |

As much as I like Bo and McCann... I think we need some more offensive production from our 2C spot. I'd like to see Sutter go there, at least for awhile, freeing up Bo to play 3C against easier opposition and McCann to go back to his 4C position, where he was so effective early on.
EDIT:
For example... McCann had 7 points in 13 games leading up to Sutter's injury. Since Sutter has gone out, forcing McCann into a more prominent role, he has 4 points in 24 games. Putting Sutter in the middle instead of with the Sedins would help shelter McCann |

Hansen on the second line would create more scoring chances for Bo and Sven |

I think it has more to do with who his wingers are rather than if he is playing higher or lower on the roster. He wasn't sheltered when he played with Daniel . He did rather well. If you put him out with Kenins and Higgins , chances are there will not be a lot of points. |

Not necessarily IMO. Hansen's production can be attributed to playing with the Sedins and getting more Offensive zone starts than d-zone starts at even strength. His possession numbers aren't great.

You're right, he played well with Daniel. The reality of this roster, though, is barring injury to Hank, he's never going to be playing with Daniel on his wing, and there is a pretty big dropoff in terms of winger talent. I don't think any of Vrbata, Hansen, Baertschi, Higgins, Dorsett etc are offensively gifted enough to help bring McCann along. |

I think it's funny that they'd rather lose badly then either make the playoffs or just miss and maybe get lucky with the draw.
Nothing like depleting your roster to the point you aren't competitive anymore. |

I would take their second. That's a top 40. I don't think anyone is giving a top 10 for Hammer. Not if they want to work next year - VANTEL
There are no 1sts coming for hammer...we missed that boat. 1 time Olympian who barely played a shift there who now plays soft and is injury prone. Be lucky t get a third. |

Like Buffalo last year?
It's sad that people don't realize that they are doing the exact thing that we have ridiculed fan bases mercilessly about year after year.
Take a look in the mirror everyone. |

Many have been saying for awhile that Hansen needs to get on Bo's line. Would for sure create space for Bo and Sven |

The tank in Buffalo ad TO was VERY apparent last year almost too much so. Benning runs a much better stealth tank. |

Willie is on board too. He's very sneaky how he plays Higgins, vey and Bartkowski so much. Then when we are losing, he plays Dorsett the most.

Everyone wants the shiniest new toy. It'd be ideal if we could rush them into the NHL as well, put a ton of pressure on them and then when they stumble the province can use the entire back page to tell them how disappointed we are. |

Desjardins is in over his head, his deployment of players in certain situations is baffling at best.
I hope they light-up Lack tonight to help his Sv%
As I've said before, I'm not wired to cheer for them to lose, I want a win every game, but understand missing the playoffs give them a chance at a good draft pick. Hopefully Benning can trim the dead-weight at the TDL. |
