If losing for three years means winning in 5 years. Im on-board.
Wish the Sedins werent a package deal. Because their cap kills anyone who'd be interested in bringing them in for a cup run.
Although I still would much prefer them retiring in Blue and Green.
Tremendous human beings who have done a ton for this city and childrens hospital.
IM SO TORN! - vancity787
I won't get into it because it is a real touchy topic on here, but having them on board and finishing 22-25 benifit son one.
If you can get 2 good prospects ,2 high draft picks, 10 mil in cap space to find a top 3 forward , plus the high draft pick you will get because we suck, you have to look hard at it. That is all I will say on the subject. I will let Lefty take over now |

What would the Canucks want in return for Hamhuis - in terms of defense or offence upgrades. Sens have some great prospects however Chabot is someone I highly doubt they move so it would like be upfront and maybe a guy like Eglund+
Although with the young forwards coming, I'm guessing it's D right? - AlfieisKing
Despite what many on here may think Hamhuis should get a king's ransom at the deadline. D in general are overpaid for and Hamhuis is still a very capable guy.

Of all the teams in the Pacific I think that Anaheim had the most potential to go deep(excluding the Queens) they where the favorite to win the cup, I think with the addition of two impact players the would not just reach the playoffs but would go deep as well. - Pres.cup
in your last post you had them (ducks) finishing last so the #1 pick from that trade would be valuable to us... now you have them winning the cup?
your trade idea was so we would get mathews....now youre saying the trade will get ducks to PO.
youre kinda all over the place here. |

Remember when everyone on here would mock other fan bases for cheering to lose? Remember mocking the Leaf fans? Remember mocking the Sabres fans?
I do. - Marwood
Yeah I remember that, do you remember last summer when we were mocking each other here, this family is broken. Now get back in the basement. |

We have tried it the other way for years and it has taken us to 22 nd place today. Time to try a different approach. I am hoping for top 5 picks for the next three years and unfortunately that means losing a lot.
For the first person that wants to bring up the Oilers , save it, I will come back with the Lightning Panthers Kings Hawks Pens Caps Minny - VANTEL
Kings where a joke for how long? Cup winners
Hawks where a joke until their owner died and they started to buy UFA's like Hossa. Cup winners
Pens where a joke that was gonna move until Buttman gave them Crosby. 1 cup and now a crappy top heavy team.
Lightning, panthers, caps, mminny have all had less success over the past 5 years then we have so I don't see them as so called success stories.
Leaf fans cheer on the tank.
Oil fans cheered on the tank
Buffalo fans cheered on the tank.
What do these teams have in common? A whole lot of losing, year in and year out, sorry I'll celebrate winners and winning. I'll cheer for a win and Booo a loss.
If we end up with a high pick that's just dandy, but I'd rather remain a winning team then a group of losers.

Sorry my mistake, I should have clarified. I have them aquiring those guys. Then perry gets injured and they just miss out on the playoffs by one point. However threw a stock of luck they win the lottery and we pick first overall.

No thanks. You'll turn around and trade those guys for a much better return. |

Ive made similar posts....tanking is never good. Teams who have like leafs oilers canes sabres are still in serious trouble from it. Would never wish that upon us. |

I've heard quotes of him saying he wants to stay at home.
Whether or not those were accurate I couldnt tell you.
But Im sure if he was asked to play for a contender he'd simply accept a trade and sign back here in the off-season if being home meant that much to him |

Honestly the whole idea of tanking sound ridiculous to me. Why are you one of the very few people playing the sport you love and not sitting in a cubicle all of a sudden going to decide its a good idea to play like shyt on purpose.
I'd like to think hockey players/coaches/managers have a little more pride than that.
I think tanking is a myth.
Nobody wants to be embaressed and lambasted by their city.
They want to win, Period. |
