Black said the Sabres will not have a third jersey next season and, in fact, may shelve the concept of an alternate sweater entirely until 2020, when the franchise will be celebrating its 50th anniversary.

I think it's next year. I thought Ted Black, before he was replaced by Russ Brandon, said they couldn't wear one this year if they retired the current one.

There's no doubt in my mind it's simply going to be a Royal Blue original.

It's way too easy to say Rey is Luke Skywalker's daughter there has to be a twist it way too easy

Anakin was supposed to bring balance to the force. I believe Rey is a clone of Anakin's DNA. They cloned her to bring balance to the forcex then when things went awry they hid her and never told her about anything so that she would not be in danger. She is too strong with the force to be a Kenobi.

Just like Anakin she is a good pilot and a good mechanic.

How easy is it to send in a Sabres sweater and get the numbers and name plate changed to a different player? I thought I had heard that if you mailed it to the Sabres Store they would do it for a small fee.

my buddy claims the movie had a lot of nods so some pretty deep geeked out stuff that people like me wouldn't catch.
He feels like Disney is trying to finally satisfy all of the people who have been in to the franchise for 30+ years rather than so stupid Jar-jar bunks/George Lucas crap.

You got to admit, there's piles of books out there disney can grab from. And they have the money to pay the authors.
I really got out of Star wars once the prequels came out.
I didn't even mind Ewoks back in the day.

I don't read the books. I've looked at the story arc for a few of them and they seem pretty cool, but I won't get into them. Never could as a kid either.

Disney wanted this one to be safe but fun and they got that. The first episode in each trilogy is always happy and the good guys win. The 2nd one is where we find out who the bad guys really are. So I'm excited.

Not to mention Rogue One is hopefully going to be really good. They're playing to the fans which at this point is smart.

Kenobi was a jedi master and a powerful one at that. I think the movies understate how strong he really was. He killed Darth Maul as a padawan remember. He also was one of the few jedi to be able to become one with the force after death, before him only a few had including Qui-Gon. If she is his grand daughter it wouldn't surprise me if she is powerful.

As far as cloning goes, I think they're going to stay far away from that. At least, I hope so.

Edit: Btw, Anakin did bring balance to the force IMO. The jedi were too powerful and too isolated and arrogant. They were destroyed. He then destroyed the emperor. The light side was less powerful and the dark side was all but gone. Other than maybe Snoke which we didn't know about and still really don't

Next year would be 16-17 and would last until 18-19 at least. That means they'd have enough time to let that 3rd run its course and still do a 50th anniversary jersey. I'd put money on a 3rd as well.

I've heard in rumblings that there are discussions to put EDM and BUF against one another in a Winter Classic just for the McDavid/Eichel display like they did with Crosby/Ovechkin many times.

Maybe in the next year or two... would have a new jersey for that.

3rds have to have a run for 3 years, I believe. The winter classic would make most sense in 2018 so for them to do that and the 50th anniversary they'd have to put the 3rd out a year before the classic.

I agree. There are billions of people in the galaxy, not everything that happens needs to be because of 1 bloodline. You want the main one to be important, I get that and I can dig that. Ren is part of the bloodline. We don't need Rey as well. It's like when they were saying Finn is likely Lando's kid.
