That's not the point. - Tomahawk
Honestly I don't think you have a point, and are really just inventing an issue. Can you find any source who has brought up what you're suggesting? The article that was posted today by LeBrun discussed termination.

If he's so hellbent on playing, if he's such a standup guy, then waive your NMC, go to LHV and prove to scouts that you do still have what it takes and that you are just a bad fit on the team. Flyers would gladly accommodate you there.
It's pretty obvious it's not an option in his mind. Maybe it will be next year, but until he exhausts that avenue I will female dog about him and his stupid comments regarding this impasse |

To gaze upon Bernie's nordique is to gaze upon many slightly inebriated beautiful women of the 1970's and 1980's. |

It is pretty clear what his point is, and it is a legitimate point. Rafalski retired due to injury and the other examples of players terminating SPCs (Semin as an example) terminated because they had viable alternatives to make similar money in other leagues
which of those categories does Vinny fall into? |

I'm sure the Phantoms would be okay with playing him over the likes of Tim Brent, Kevin Goumas, and Joe Rehkamp if he were to waive his NMC. So yeah, since he has options and will not exercise him, he's lying when he says playing is most important. |

Yeah, I know. I don't doubt that Vinny would give it a go, but he just can't.
I still say that he retires and the Flyers award him the first-ever "Vinny Lecavalier Retirement" award, which comes with a $7M cash prize. |

I don't think he's lying. I think he means that playing in the NHL is most important. He wants to go out with his skates on. I get that. I have zero issue with him abiding by the terms of his contract, especially in a year such as this.
The anger and vitriol toward VL from this HB group of (alleged) fans puzzles me. |

Yup no tolerance for affluenza syndrome. He can drive 50 miles north if he wants to play |

But the Flyers have done all but come out and said they will do everthing in their power to not let him play in the NHL. His best option, while getting paid, would be to waive his NMC, go to the AHL, and hope some team takes a chance on him. Then he could at least play. |

Of course I would. He seems like a nice guy and is a borderline HHOFer. Just because I don't like his reluctance to use options at his disposal doesn't mean I want to punch him in the face. |

I'd respectfully mention that he should retire in conversation.

Sure, he could, but he doesn't want to do that. He clearly realizes that there is zero upside for him to do that while there is plenty of downside. Again, his contract terms allow for this course of action. So he's making the best of his situation by practicing and working out and being as ready as he can be should an opportunity arise.
Nobody on this board should care one bit about this. It is completely inconsequential to the Flyers this year. |

If Columbus ends up trading Johnason for Josi and 2nd rate stuff, it will be quite hilarious |
