Seems like it's been a fun day in here.
If Columbus ends up trading Johnason for Josi and 2nd rate stuff, it will be quite hilarious - PhillySportsGuy
I would trade Johanson for Josi straight up. |

Yep. I'm not a big believer in Johansen, though, and I think Josi has become an elite defenseman. |

If Sanheim hits his potential, he's a taller Josi. I've heard Keith and McDonagh comparables, but how he activates, his skating stride, his command of o zone and rushes -- I think he's eerily similar to Josi. |

I agree about the Weber thing.
I remember proposing the idea of a BSchenn for Josi trade a number of years ago and was laughed at. |

It is pretty clear what his point is, and it is a legitimate point. Rafalski retired due to injury and the other examples of players terminating SPCs (Semin as an example) terminated because they had viable alternatives to make similar money in other leagues
which of those categories does Vinny fall into? - YuenglingJagr
It's pretty clear what the rules of the CBA are. Once a team and a player mutually agree to terminate an SPC, the player is then a free agent, and free to sign with any other team. It says so in the CBA. How much money he can make in another deal is irrelevant. Nothing is being forced on a player who has agreed to mutually terminate. There is no mythical can of worms that would be opened, nor is there any rules broken if it happened. It can't happen unless Lecavalier agrees to it. |

I agree with the vast majority of your take on things, but on this one, I don't understand why you feel.it's horrific for Wheels to.terminate.
Ilya Kovalchuk walked away from the Devils, they benefited from the cap space they gained. It's not like the Flyers would be the only team in the league to have seen a termination benefit them.
Trust me, we all know he doesn't have to do it. But he's talking out of both sides of his mouth on this one, because no one is delusional enough to think he's going to play for anyone at that cap hit, him getting all of the money.
Sit and collect, terminate and possibly get the chance with a contender. Either way, he chooses, because the Flyers have clearly made their decision

People aren't keen to admit Weber's game has fallen off a tad aside from being elite offensively and an elite PP QB, which he still is. A five years younger Josi is preferable to me. I'm right you're wrong nana nana boo boo.
Now let's argue semantics for 3 hours. |

Honestly, Lecavalier's words don't mesh with his approach. If money really doesn't matter, and he just wants to play, and he believes in his ability, why wouldn't he agree to terminate, and move on with his career? There's no way after sitting most of the year, that he magically finds his game again. It's really getting down to now or never. I'd be shocked if the Flyers could trade him. |
