Yeah. I actually think he's fine as a #6. If they have the money to keep him around, then just play him in that spot. He's in his "prime" so you don't really have to worry about deterioration with him yet.

Honestly, there's a lot to like about this. Obviously, trading Lecavalier and retaining salary is better than a buyout. Even better if Lecavalier retires. I kind of believe that because there's no way in hell I see Lombardi taking him in trade unless that is true. I think Lombardi took Lecavalier with the agreement that he will retire, in order to get Luke Schenn cheap. I don't see Sutter dealing very well with Lecavalier.
The downside is the Flyers got low value for Schenn, unless that kid is a player. Don't know much about him, so we'll see.
