Murray's choice to be his "#1 goaltender" which may end up hopefully being his demise here in Buffalo.
I think I stand on pretty solid ground from what I have saw of Lehner before he injured himself, that he will not be thought of as a "#1 goaltender" by seasons end. - Pluviophile
God there is a lot of bellyaching in here. From what I see you are building a solid foundation . Buliding a team does not happen overnight . Look at the team that killed you guys last night. The leafs should be following your guys example.
There is always a ton of middle ground that gets flown over on these boards.
Being worried or disappointed does not equate to thinking we are doomed.
I have never once said fire Murray, or trade anyone. - sbroads24
Yet you've judged his moves after 40 games and basically said they've added almost nothing. Not making those moves adds less...so I fail to see the argument other than for argument's sake.

As has everyone else.
I have yet to see one of us post " Hey, slow down on the O'Reilly talk, it's way too early to judge that deal"

And we hated Darcy, rightfully so, for his meandering and often glacial approach for making big moves.
Now we hate the current guy because he is the total opposite. - kingcong39
I don't like the current guy because his moves aren't making the team better, they are still meandering.
He lucked into Eichel and Reinhart.
His best moves thus far that he really didn't have a choice in.
Forget it, what I am saying is....yep, he's great!

I don't like Murray because I think he gave up too much to acquire guys that will not be the answer. For the cost to acquire Kane, Bogosian and Lehner (Myers, Stafford, Lemieux, Armia, 1st rd pick, 2nd rd pick) I would think you could get more / more impactful player. I hope it works out, but I myself don't have a lot of faith in any of the 3. I don't miss what we gave up to get them, I only wish we could have gotten different player(s) in return.
Kudos to GMTM for at least making deals unlike the previous regime. Time will tell but just because the team was historically bad the last 2 seasons doesn't buy a pass to continue to be at the very bottom. The guys that have been brought in have played enough games in the NHL that at this point they should be making a bigger impact than they are.

It will last until this team wins a cup... And some will still female dog about how we won of how many games it took to win.

How do you have such insight into good moves and bad moves? Are you an ex NHL Staffer? I think you guys are worse than Leaf fans . I like the Leafs and the Sabres . But fan bases need to man up and stop being cry babies. I have a lot more faith in what the Sabres are doing.

Disagree on that part... He did everything he could to be dead last..

Just saw Joch's posting of the roster. The Atlantic has the best d-men for the job, IMO, so that's a bonus. - stashu
NHL.com had a prediction article up yesterday that had Risto as our representative instead of O'Reilly. I could argue that wouldn't have been a bad option.

Because everything Murray added was for free. We didn't give anything up to add these players.
Shouldn't there be a rule against referees instigating fights with posters?

Not sure why about the italics, I only wanted one word. Something that a person that has watched zero hockey in their lifetime could have done - Pluviophile

There's no rule anywhere that says disagreeing isn't allowed. He hasn't done anything wrong. Where the problem comes in for most people is that they start calling names (idiot, stupid, etc) and so on. He's done none of those things.

How?
One more win and 3 more points than last years team that may have been the worst NHL roster ever assembled.
I'll argue that those 3 points were won by Eichel and Reinhart which Murray had zero to do with, they were picks a person that has not watched any NHL hockey at all could have made.
Simply pick the man ranked next.
That's how I am assessing him.
