He'll go to the AHL, once he's done in college. That's the typical course for any NCAA guy. Miller followed that same path. - HonkFortheGoose
I know it's the normal path, and I know it's even Murray's desired path. He wants guys staged so we don't have a log jam in the AHL. I'm of the opinion that your best guys should be in the AHL and anyone else should be wherever else they need to go. I'm just saying I don't know what level of competition he's facing on a nightly basis compared to what he'd be facing in the AHL. It could be better when he plays top teams but could also be worse most nights. I'm not sure because I don't follow cawlege hawkey enough. |

Not sure if you are comprehending?
47 games is the most this guy has ever played in his career in one season .
Not any other numbers but the games played.
47 games does not a #1 goalie make.
Again, this is Murray's #1 goalie of the future. - Pluviophile
in 08/09 he actually played in 49 games if you look closer..

You can't make a guy leave college though. That's his decision. So as long as Petersen wants to be in school, he won't be in the AHL. |

And I never said he was going to be a #1, I said "I was interested to see what Cal could do" <--(pretty much verbatim)
Also, Lehner has played more than 40 games.
47 to be exact.

I get that you can't, I'm saying I wish you could. It's my same argument that I have for juniors. |

It's not the same as Juniors though. Those kids don't have a choice. They either go to Jr because the NHL team doesn't think they're ready or they're in the NHL. The team has 0 say for a guy in the NCAA. The player gets to choose. Does he want to leave college and start his pro career or not. For the most part, it's up to him. If the team wants them to leave early, they can offer a contract to try and convince them, but inevitably, it's the players decision. |

You're right, let me rephrase, I wish he'd leave college and go to the AHL. Forgot they couldn't sign and be in college still. |
