49.... - IndianaSabresFan
2009/10 that's right.
The 2 games in Binghamton I missed.
Good catch.
Still doesn't change 49 games does not a #1 make. |

For me it does.
Especially when that is the most he has played since then.
He has certainly never been a proven #1 . |

Wrong again. He played 52 the very next year, playoffs included |

Moral of the story is that Lehner doesn't have enough experience to warrant:
A first round pick
-OR-
Constant criticism of talent based on sample size
Pick your poison |

We aren't talking playoffs included but as I have stated prior, y'all can twist anything the way you wish to help your cause.
It really is okay with me.

I am glad it is okay with you . I have been reading all your posts and you seem to be twisting the facts as well . Just a neutral observer.

Why . His numbers look better than average to me . And he seems to be NHL ready . Draft a goalie and you have to develop him to 3 to 5 years . Someone has already done it for Buffalo.

Lehner can become a #1 goalie and succeed. There is still a chance that happens.
Trading a 1st for a goalie that you don't already know is a #1 is the problem. - sbroads24
I haven't looked it up, yup too lazy..
But how many times was a 21st over all or later was traded for a starting Goalie.
I'd be shocked if it happened more than once or twice...rarely in other words. A starting g Goalie is more valuable than a mid or late 1st rounder. |

So it's two. You're still judging trades early. What happens if Colin White never makes the NHL? Do we win that trade? What happens if Lemiuex doesn't? Or if Myers goes back to looking like a baby giraffe? What if next year Kane and O'Reilly click and Kane scores 30 and Stafford get 10. Is it better? If we make the playoffs with Lehner as our goaltender and Ottawa misses in 2 years should the Ottawa GM be fired?
You're very quick to jump on "this team won the trade" and "Murray got fleeced" but the fact of the matter is no one, and I mean no one, knows who won that trade until we look back and can see all that happened because of it. That's why, from the beginning, I've preached patience. Let's see what the whole team can do. Let's see Lehner play 40 games in blue and gold before we start deciding to kill Murray. Let's have Kane finish the year. Let's have a team without 10 to be free agents.
This is a FULL rebuild. This was not a retool and back in the playoffs in 2 years. This was tear it down, start from scratch, and let's do it right. If we see the finished product and it's not good, then unfortunately you'll be right. But without seeing it altogether you're stressing and whining and complaining over something that you can't change and something that, without seeing into the future, can't know. - Zschalberg

Sorry but, I carried this over from last blog.
the draft lottery is the worst thing in sports. The fact that a good team can have injuries to stars/bad stretches and just miss out on playoffs have the chance to get 1st overall is a joke. The reason why the worst team drafts 1st is so they can become competitive and win games. You're pretty much punishing teams for being bad. Unreal lol. Definitely with this being a salary cap league. One of the few proven ways to get out of the basement is through the draft. And usually players picked 1st or 2nd overall are much better than those picked 3,4,5 etc.
- Smittyx36
I get that Smitty, I really do.
But then on the other hand you have GM's like Murray that make a mockery of the system and blatantly trade off good parts and bring in bad parts.
Something needed to be done because of GM's like Murray that feel the only way that he can build a winning team is to deliberately fail and then get rewarded for making a mockery of a game so rich in history that would squash Murray like the spineless cockroach that he is.
Hard for this guy to respect someone like that - Pluviophile
Why don't you just post under your real handle? Why the need for an alt? I know one of the refs said yesterday that this was an alt, but didn't say whose. I mean, I know it's the internet and everything, but why the extra layer of anonymity?
And the guy posting under an alternate handle is ripping Murray for a perceived lack of honor. That is rich. |
