I'm really more interested in the game in Roc tonight than I am by the Chicago game. I think the Roc game will have more impact on our overall success.

Since it was mentioned at least a couple times yesterday:

Making a Murderer: White House Responds to Petition to Pardon Subject of Netflix Series
"A pardon in this case would need to be issued at the state level by the appropriate authorities," a representative wrote. Steven Avery was convicted of murdering photographer Teresa Halbach in 2005.

And we should be finding out by noon(?) today who indeed claimed Gormley off of waivers.

We have no idea if this hypothetical is true.

I am fairly certain this hypothetical is true.

Completely hypocritical.

Not a post the referees should be removing.

- SabresPanacea

When you compare the two, they are hypocritical. However, I didn't say that we for sure wouldn't have made the pick, I simply said that my opinion is that we wouldn't have made that pick regardless. Others like to say that we WOULD have drafted White. I know, semantics and all of that....

I never said that we would have drafted White.
I simply gave the talent level that was still available at pick 21 which was our pick.
And White is a fine talent.

Actually, if you want to get technical, it was the Islanders pick.

Not quite the same. In the CHL they're not allowed to leave until they turn 20. In college they can leave whenever they want and go to the AHL, or the NHL. Eichel is a prime example. Girgensons too, he played in the USHL and committed to Vermont, but was good enough to play in the AHL, so he was afforded that opportunity. And Reinhart last year, wasn't good enough to be on the NHL roster so he had to go back to the WHL until his season was over and he fulfilled his obligation to the CHL. That dumbass NHL/CHL transfer agreement is, well, dumb. The CHL doesn't want all it's good players to go pro, so they keep them and a lot of times they get bored and basically lose a year of development. And some times get such a big head because they're wrecking the league that they get too big for their britches i.e. Grigorenko, Radulov.
- Wetbandit1

Unless they sign with a club and stick a la McDavid for example

The NHL/CHL agreement is a joke. I get why they want it, but the NHL shouldn't have to harm itself for a junior organization.

For some reason I'm fairly confident we didn't get Gormley. I don't think Columbus did either I just think that he's going to get snagged by some team that is like 15-20 if at all. I think there's something we don't know.

With waiver claims, I believe there usually is little info leaked until noon.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we didn't claim him. We would have to waive someone, and I would bet that they might be holding out hope that they could get a mid-round pick for Carlo

I know that he was highly touted as a prospect, I just think that the fact that he wasn't able to stick with teams such as Arizona and Colorado says something. That said, I take him if I'm GM.

Would anyone take Jimmy Howard for a 2nd or 3rd if Lehner doesn't work out?Would Detroit do that?

Right sb.
I don't care one way or the other if we put a claim in for Gormley.
Honestly, I hope we didn't because there has to be a pretty significant reason why a kid picked 13 th in the 2010 NHL draft has been all but given up on by 2 NHL franchises.

Yea, I'm not sure what his issue is.

I'd take a flier on him if it were me.

I don't either, but unless he's in the press box most nights, there's a significant chance he's not healthy at the deadline either.

Was he given up on by Arizona or was he traded? Because that's different. With Colorado that's giving up unless they just really want him in the minors and think he'll pass through

My friend and I were talking about him yesterday. He may be one of those guys that has all the talent he needs, but needs more time to develop. Think along the lines of Campbell. He may need additional time in the AHL, but unless he goes unclaimed, he's not going to get it and it could end up detrimental to his game overall and hurt his career.

If he's healthy you can get a 4th for him at the deadline. Pysyk is coming back so he'll be watching more than he has been. I for one have actually thought his game was decent. Not great and not good, but better than I had expected. As a depth guy he's done his job well

He was traded from Arizona to Colorado. But it seems that the Colorado fans on other sites were not happy about him being waived yesterday.
