I think it was because they were at 50 contracts, and he was odd man out

by not being claimed, they are stuck at 50

look at their stats, myers 47 games with the sabres last year and bogo 23 this year. they are basically the same player except bogo at least hits. I just don't see why everyone is already up in arms about that trade. be patient.

Comparing LAST YEAR's roster to what Bogosian is playing with this year isn't a fair comparison either though.

Comparing the 2 players by points isn't fair - Bogosian isn't exactly a points guy, though I don't think he's done too well in a "keep the crease clear" way either.

P.S. If Lemiuex is so good and they expected to make the team last year why aren't they equally as surprised that he didn't make Winnipeg this year? Either Claude had some beef with Buffalo, the rumor that he wouldn't sign was just a parting shot by Buffalo after trading him, or he's equally upset with Winnipeg and we just haven't heard about it yet.

Last year's team was HORRIBLE. This year's team is bad but has better personnel, meaning Bogosian is playing with better Sabres than Myers was.

perfectly understood your meaning. but just because the roster is better doesn't mean they are immediately going to play better and therefore guys like bogosian should be putting up better numbers than myers did last year. anyways, not meant for an argument. I just think some of us sabres fans need to chill a bit and be patient.

My guess was once they wouldnt sign, they quietly asked for a trade to avoid it going public. it was to the benefit of both sides to keep that under wraps until he was gone
