edler has serious skill and more potential. I dont think he was developed properly as we havent hard decent D coaches in many years. Not since the quinn days or perhaps carlyles stint here (can t recall who was head coach at the time).

Get a decent D coach in here and retool the D....as in put in your exit strategies, coordinate with your goaltender for rebound placings etc

Speaking of Carlyle, I noticed him at the anaheim game watching from above.... obviously a quest of the team. He may be off the market pretty quick then. He should get him for D coach before hes gone.

That's replaced ! He is a bad defenseman. Any ....ANY d man that can hit skate pass and take the body, at a league average level is a big improvement on Edler. Take the first rounder , draft whatever , take the 3 mil in cap space ...get a ufa....pick up a scoring winger... Or a real good checker. Either way the team is more competitive then it was with Edler eating up 5 mil and being a passenger on the back end
