For right now yes...he is. But with Bo's and McCann's upside that might change in a year or two. But I would not mind RNH on the Nucks...not super tough but brings a lot. - LordHumungous
lot of people don't think the Sedins are tough. RNH is 21, he cant grow facial hair. Give him a few years.
Carol I remember you asking me yesterday where I heard Willy was going to scratch a vet I think it was just a sports feed on my phone yesterday morning...might have been the Score...not too sure. Might have been a facebook link also...
Was Higgins a healthy scratch last night? - LordHumungous
Yes, I found some pre-existing chatter about this idea when I got home after the game, but hadn't seen anything beforehand. I was stunned when I got the pregame lineup sheet and saw Higgins' name scratched out.
Willie will need to get Jake into the lineup soon enough. Even if Hansen's out next game, who else will sit?
This must be the healthiest the forwards have been in ages, and Sutter's not even back yet....

I think you are wrong. Same as we lost the West Coast express someone else stepped in. - VANTEL
The West Coast express, while impressive for a few seasons were not nearly as good as the Sedin's and I think you are underestimating how hard it is to find players how can consistently play at an elite level.

the sedins stepped in, were the thrid, then second and eventually 1st line. We don't have a future 1C. Unless we draft Matthews, which would be the luckiest thing to ever happen to this franchise since Bure.

You say I underestimate everything
I have seen a lot of things watching for 60 years , and I predict we will be fine.
This team has a good backbone developing and when you put the youth in situations that they needed to lead they did.
This summer I said get rid of Higgins on waivers if need be and you told me about his veteran presence . We lose when he is in the line up and win without him.
Have more trust in our young guys. They are better than you think

I've said all along I like the youth of this team ( Hutton Marky Bo JM and JV). Sven has grown on me and I am sure he has grown on others here. I see a very good second line developing with these guys mentioned. That said I still want Mathews or the two Finns this year. So one game doesn't change my thinking.
If we were lucky enough to land Mathews , the big question of who replaces Hank gets immediately answered.
I still see hope in Vey. He creates chances and soon they will go in. He really still hasn't played a full year. I think him and MCCann play well together and would look great with Hansen - VANTEL
Lots of people thought the Sedins were second liners too early in their years.

Then why didn't you waive him jim?
We don't get any cap relief if we waive or buy him out.
Why don't you trade him for a 4rth with 50 percent retained?

I know we don't get cap relief . What we do get is a roster spot for a more deserving player.

I disagree, teams will always be hesitant to trade their developed talent unless there is an issue. The only reason Johansen is available was because of his health/attitude issues.
Jones is a hell of a prospect but hasn't proved anything close to what Johansen has in this league. - belcherbd
Wow. i see this deal totally opposite.
I see RyJo as a talented player, with the risk. He may/may not get it together and become a consistent superstar, but their are potential flags.
