They must be keeping him for the shoot outs - VANTEL
I honestly prefer him in the lineup right now. He's always good for two goals against a night. Helps the pumpkin |

If Bo and McCann can both develop into 2nd line centres, that is a win, if one of them is more than that, it would be awesome.
When the WCE was rolling, Morrison wasn't really a first line centre, he was playing the position, but I can always remember hearing and reading the talk of how much better that line would be with a better centre. I think they ended up doing quite well. If we had both these guys at that level, I am sure other holes would be a priority.
Sven and Bo have had some chemistry brewing, maybe if teams start noticing this, Vrbata will get a little more room and get going some more. - hillbillydeluxe
Why cant they be just like Krecji and Bergeron in Boston. Neither is elite but both are good players. Give them some good wingers and your set. People put too much stock in this 1 center thing. Although if we get mathews which im still hoping. I am keeping Bo and dealing McCann for help on D. |

The sooner he is gone the better - VANTEL
I want any player with a Canucks uniform to play well.
If we win and have to keep him for a play off run, so be it. If he is playing well and we are out of the playoffs at tdl, he will have a better return. If he sucks, and is not known for doing much in the playoffs, I don't know if he will be worth much if anything? |

Totally.
i am happy with Bo and look forward to seeing him develop.
Sounds like you see him into a David Backes type, which would be great.
I'm also happy with Sven's production. - dbot
Backes is an A Hole
Good , but still an A hole.
I see Hanks work ethic in Bo. I see a bit of Bertuzzi in his power moves. I see a small bit of Toews in his drive to the net , and I see a little flash and dash of Datsyuk with his few dangles.
Don't get me wrong , he is no where near as talented as the mentioned but that's the parts of his game that stands out. He does it all. |

You're most likely correct, I just don't agree that's it's disrespectful or inaccurate to want better players on your team.
Not a knock against Tanev or Edler to want Seth Jones or Big Buff either. |

I'm fine with patience, but it's still fair to say we could use a 21 yr old future 1C.
Bo projects to be a great 2C
McCann could be a good 2C as well.
But if you have a chance to grab a RyJo or RNH, without gutting your team, you do it imo. - dbot
Without gutting you're team you do it? Sooo we would get johanson for our crap vets? Higgins ? Burrows? Weber? Or would we have to toss in some value? Tanev, Edler ? We know the Sedins won't go...and JB won't deal the kids...so how does that trade go down? Without " gutting you're team"? |

Maybe they can be that good.
If we somehow get the depth that a centreman is expendable, by all means use a redundant asset to address an area of need. We also have Sutter signed long term.
If Sutter was healthy, would there have been any temptation to trade a McCann or Horvat if the right trade came along for a young dman? |

They can be (and are) good players.
But it's better to have great players.
Elite players are needed to win the cup (Boston had Chara).
It's the same argument as when we say, yeah Edler is good 2-3 Dman, but wouldn't it be nice to have (have we ever had) a true 1D. |

I think most would agree that Krejci and Bergeron would be the ceiling of Horvat and McCann, which would be awesome as both are very good centres.
Assuming all your prospects will hit their ceiling is naive though.
Take our favorite whipping boy Higgins for example.
He was drafted 14th overall and had an excellent start to his career scoring 23, 22 and 27 goals in his first 3 seasons. At the time many predicted he would become a top line player and leader for that club. He peaked then and has gone on to have a good career but at the time it looked like he would take the next step.
I hope Horvat goes on to become a Bergeron player and McCann can do what Krejci has but there are many more examples of guys like Higgins in the league than Bergeron's. |

I might be the most unlikely candidate to say this, but I doubt Benning does any big trades. He likes our youth a lot and seems unwilling to move them.he won't do 2 for ones to upgrade and gut.
I think at TDL you will see Vrbata gone. Hamhuis has a NTC so who knows. I think he will ask Burrows again who knows.
He keeps saying we will build through the draft and I think he really believes it. I don't hink you will see Hamhuis back next year and Burrows is 50/50 |

Really he pays to the cap every season since he took majority from Orca bay. Big stupid contracts. Ie Lulongo - thundachunk
Easy to pay to the cap when your ticket prices are within the top 6 highest in the league and you have good sellout streaks.. |

Wow. i see this deal totally opposite.
I see RyJo as a talented player, with the risk. He may/may not get it together and become a consistent superstar, but their are potential flags.
Seth Jones i see as a more reliable bet. - dbot
He has had a poor season after 2 consecutive strong ones. And that poor season happens to be under the tutelage of Torts.
Who do you thing has caused the decline? RyJo or Torts?
And also 26pts in 38 games isn't that bad....for what is an "off" season.

That's my point.
Edler is good.
Horvat is good.
No one (outside of the Sedin's) is great, or can realistically be expected to be great on this team.
That's just the way it is.

I'd like to hear the answer to this
You can't get without giving, we've nothing to give! Patience and build from the draft, when you have a solid stable of prospects then and only then make some deals. |

We do have tradable parts, but people don't want to move. Hansen has value to get a high draft pick but no one wants to move him. |
