Thoughts on the game:
-Teuvo Teravainen reminds me a lot of Vanek. When there's a chance he could score a goal, he looks turbo charged, otherwise, there's a lot of coasting in his game.
-The Sabres give up the red line far too easily. It allows teams that would otherwise be stopped from establishing the offensive zone the time to have a free dump in and a start on the forecheck. I'd rather take the chance of being beaten by being aggressive on those potential dump ins by trying to turn them into icings.
-Normally, the GWG Chad gave up would've driven me nuts, but the team's pathetic scoring ability rendered it unimportant.
-Kane and Bogo clearly need to be supporting players receiving matchups against lesser competition to have a larger impact, which is ironically the same thing Myers and Stafford needed.
-It's going to take some kind of miracle to purge the team of the dead weight. GMTM's long term success could very likely be determined by his ability to pull this off.
-I give Panarin a 9.5 on the dive as he stuck the landing. |

I am amazed Murray has done nothing in the last month to improve this team
very darcyesk - homiedclown
What's he got to deal right now that isn't essentially dead weight?
Ennis?
Unless the return is exactly what they need, dealing someone lile McCabe or Pysyk is a panic move. |

" The team has six players who have recorded 20 goals or more per season during their careers in the NHL but only two, Ryan O'Reilly and Evander Kane, are on pace to score more than 10 this campaign. Part of the problem may be that the team's shooting percentage is a paltry 77.7%. The Sabres were suppposed to be a much improved team this season but without any significant offense the results haven't been there" |

Things aren't tricky at all if the pick is top 5. You keep it all day long unless you're totally blown away. - kingcong39

It would have to be Nathan MacKinnon type player ..
Like if we had pick 6 in the draft if Johansson was available at the time I would have gave it to them in a second - gerbe75pts
What if it got you a great player and helped you get rid of a contract at the same time. |

Anything besides #1 I'm listening
Matthews is on the level of mcdavid & Eichel IMO
Kid is really impressive, very consistent, & can really skate. Plus he has size & skill. I would trade A LOT to get him
Hopefully we get lucky & actually win the lotto for once! |

Of course Matthews is good but the two Finland players are on the same plateau as him they could easily be the first overall pick we could be looking at a Malkin and Ovechkin type of draft |

I actually haven't seen them enough to have a strong opinion
What I have seen I've liked,
But they haven't blown me away like Matthews has
I tend to like Fins though
I was REALLY high on Barkov (thought that was a GREAT pick by FLA), and I was talking about wanting Risto for our pick in that draft for weeks before he fell to us. I was really happy when Nurse dropped to the Oilers. |
