Just watched the game and I am Fu*king disgusted with half of this team.
Let me start out with Bogosian. He's turning over the puck every chance he gets, he's slow, he doesn't hit, he has no offensive ability, he takes dumb penalties? Anything else??
Franson. Guy is the slowest least defensive 6'5'' defenceman I've ever seen. His PP shot which is supposed to be his strength is so bad you'd think Stevie Wonder was shooting the puck
The lovable loser trio of Gionta, Larsson and Moulson couldn't score if you glued their stick to the puck and the puck to the net. They are slow, and have easily cost this team ten wins this year with their missing wide open nets and clear chances.
Kane. Not going to knock the guy too much. He tries, he skates hard and he creates chances but like Girgensons they're both colder than the Antarctic.
The PP is playing too timid. When they get the puck the wait a second before shooting. One timers score all the time in the NHL on Power plays. Maybe the Sabres should try it?
Gorges is nothing more than a number 4 defenceman on a weak crop and a 5th on a medocire team. He plays all right in his own zone but when he get's beat he's good for a stupid penalty a game.
Johnson played well tonight but man does he give up some of the easiest stupid goals...
Just getting really effin sick of this |

They shouldn't be shooting 10%. The average is around 8% - sbroads24
Just under 9%, but problem is that league average has been dropping the past few seasons, which is yet another indication with the boring brand of hockey so many teams play that the league has a problem.
Even worse is how many, even those inside the NHL, seem to make fun of a team like Dallas and their style. |

I wonder if it's the coaches system
I thought this coach would open it up a bit - homiedclown
I think it's prob a combo of a few things
I'm still optimistic about Ennis & Kane though
Moulson isn't here long term...
So if he doesn't bounce back I'm not too concerned, although it'd be nice |

Where do you think he goes? Buy out? That's an awful lot of money, but if we have the space I say do it. |

True
And it remains to be seen how McKeown's defensive game will translate in the pros...
But he at least has pp QB written all over him
Definitely everything (so far) offensively that he was projected to be |

Nowhere in the immediate future
He's still likely here for a couple more years, just not part of the core for the next decade or so
He's shooting at a rate about half of what he normally does
I think he'll bounce back, at least to some degree
He should be a 20goal guy, even without Tavares as his center |

How?
Bogosian has a full no movement clause
Moulson has a modified trade clause
Gionta has a full no movement clause

I agree. It kinda sounded like you were having him off the team somehow this year. I just don't see a way to get rid of him for at least the next couple of years.
I hope he'll bounce back, I like him. Have since he first broke through on the Island. Always thought LA gave up on him too soon, but that's been their MO for a little while. I thought he'd bounce back last year and he didn't. Granted there were extenuating circumstances last year, but I don't like the pattern that's developing, and him being on the wrong side of 30 with his lack of foot speed... |

Pretty much agree with all that
But as long as he keeps a good attitude, all he costs us is $$$
Worst case, he has another bad season next year and we end up seconding him to Rochester after that
More likely, he bounces back & scores 15+ for the next couple years on the 3rd line

I bet the Ducks would dump Hagelin pretty cheaply if we were willing to give him a shot...
Horrible year so far, but I liked him in nyr
Kid can skate
And he 27, so he fits the timeline |

Honestly,I will find out. I have to be honest,I am in the same place I have been in the last three years . I don't care. The bills and sabres are a train wreck. Doug whaley laughs to the bills reporters ,you DONT need to work around free agency, the bills won't make any moves. Hey doug because you are an moron. We over pay for a lot of junk. He thinks it is play station . Tim murray right now is the same. Kane and Bogosian trade, horrible. Lehner trade horrible. Signing moulson, keeping leggwand, paying Gionta, we have no goalie ,they are a mess.
The sabres don't have a lot of can't miss younger players. We like to as buffalo fans overvalue our players, but they don't hav a lot of talent in the organization. We might have a mini bills run of several more years of no playoffs - Buffalo39
This ^^^^
But some here will continue to say he has done nothing wrong or nothing to hurt this team.
Murray sucks and I have maintained that stance ever since his hire.
He blows like Monica Lewinski.

We gave up a lot of our younger talent and the stockpile of draft picks. The Sabres don't have alotof assets. That 21st pick traded for lehner could of been used as part of a bigger package. We gave up a boat load to Winnipeg for two often injured ,over valued hockey players. Regardless if it was a tank, the only great trade had been Oreilly and for as good as he is, we still down the road, might hate that trade. Johnson for technically neuvrith and halak. The miller tarde really only got us a first. Carrier might never make it,stewart gone, halak traded.tim murray needs to get off the bar stool every night and become sober. This team is in disarray and we don't havalot to of prized young players - Buffalo39
Even Darcy got a 1st for Gaustad.
Murray is a drunk. When I was putting together and working on the Canalside project, I would go into that one restaurant by the Naval yard and find Murray in there often with a few of his buds and he always had a beer in front of him around noonish. |

I agree, tim Murray left us with very bare cupboards. If Eichel and reinhart become good to very good hockey players, we will have another 5 to 7 bad years. If they don't become great, we are in big trouble besides those two andmaybe 55. We don't have one potential superstar in our organization. How does chicago and detroit keep drafting very good hockey players where they pick. Tim Murray might get fired within 18 months,my prediction - Buffalo39
Me?
I think it may be sooner.
Must get his hands out of the soup before its too late. |
