I'm really excited about Guhle. He almost made the team out of camp by all reports.

Risto is -6 in our last five games. Time to shake things up a bit. Can't possibly have a worse outcome. It's not like we've even gotten some points during this stretch. The big fat goose egg in the points column for these 5 games is a pretty good indicator that what you're doing isn't working and it's time to try something else.

And the problem is not defense or goaltending with this team. We cant score goals. I blame the fact that there is no chemistry with the lines. So the one pairing on the team with chemistry needs to be changed up?

Seems a lot of people weren't too happy with the Canada team overall. And based on the results at the tournament, those concerns seem more than warranted at this point.

Chychrn didn't make it either. If Guhle can become a top 4 guy in 2-3 years I'll be extremely happy.

Speaking of, does anyone know how Jeremy Roy is doing? He was the one I wanted to draft instead of Guhle. 28 points in 27 games, a -2 in the QMJHL. I don't follow SJ's prospects but I wonder what he's predicting out to be.

Well the problem is also defense and goaltending. We let in 5 goals last game. You won't win many games letting in 5 goals. The problem right now is everything.

This month will be the telling point for me... last year after not winning a single game in January we were in 30th by a wide margin.. we win a few games and stay within the bottom 5 (hey maybe 10 if a guy can be hopeful) then we're on track to this team being better

I have no clue. Probably awful in general. My point is simply that what they've been doing isn't working.

But, McCabe was a -2 over the same span. Bogosian was a -7. Gorges was -6. Franson was -2. Weber was +1 over his last 4 games (didn't play the last game).

I know, Risto plays the most minutes and all that. I'm not saying he's playing poorly, just that when things aren't going well for the group as a whole, it's time to change things up. That's all.

IMO not scoring is leading to the team trying to open up in 3rd and inflating GAA and putting the d under the microscope

I'd rather focus on them than nothing for now. It's nice to see them grow into NHL players and see which ones you think can make it and which are disappointing.

However, last year if we went into the 3rd down a goal, I knew it was going to be a loss. I don't feel that way this year. Just look at the Boston game. They need to get the issues of falling behind early corrected. I think once they do that, things will smooth out more on their own.
