My concern is that there is no playoffs like you say. So to me the rest of the season is player development. I think it is better for Risto's development to have consistency with his d partner so he can stay focused on his game and not learning to play with different partner especially when he is going so well right now. Of all the things to mess woth on this team, this is the last one.

This is the key part to this. If that's what you want, wouldn't it make sense to change up who his partner is now and put him with the guy that you think would be best suited to be his partner for the long haul now instead? I'd love for that guy to be one of Pysyk or McCabe personally. It's not going to be Gorges. Let him go through the growing pains of learning that guys tendencies now instead of at the beginning of next year.

The guy gets a TON of hate. Most in unwarranted. Which is surprising because he was once a very beloved (by sabres fan) player. He got people out of their seats with his hits and energy. And If you've ever met him outside of hockey, hes an awesome guy.

I actually did once. Was in Tampa for a game while I went to college in Daytona. Walking to the arena and I notice 2 guys in suits. I realize the one is Kaleta and recognize him from his beard. I shake his hand and he was real nice about it. Didn't even notice the other guy. It was Vanek. I was wearing a Vanek jersey.

That was also the day I met RJ and Harry Neale.

this is much more connected than that, after watching 89 get ripped for the last few years, I have avoided posting most of what I hear

I'm friends with quite a few Sabres and Bills.
I am word of mouthed around our 2 teams for any type of custom work.
Done work for many of them, but I would not consider them a "source".

well my source does it off and on as a side job now, more on recently. I threw his name out on this site 5 years ago, and every once in a while he would be on wgr, or empire back in the day

McCabe is not ready for that role. Bogo is not a top pair dman. Pysyk has been injured and is not ready to be put straight into a top line role that he has never played and hasn't played in so long. If Pysyk weren't injured and had been playing well and consistently and made a case for top line consideration then I would be amenable to that, however that is not the case.
