So that means rangers would likely be looking for a waiver ineligible prospect or pick.
No thanks. - belcherbd

Good to know, strange that you mention his skating stride, his MH line mate Shinkaruk also has goofy skating. - belcherbd
Yeah, its odd, its like he skating into a 100mph headwind all the time.
I never saw him play with the Ducks, but from what I have seen with the Rangers this year, he has been pretty awful.
If he could have been sent to the AHL without clearing waivers, I have no doubt he would have been there long ago. |

Etem is simply yet another project player, unfortunately, we would have to see how this project would work out at the NHL level
No point unless we move a 3rd/4th liner off our NHL roster... - Whiskey-Tango
My thoughts exactly |

Unfortunately, it would appear as though they have less than a million in cap-space. |

What makes you say that ?
Jensen has 57 pts in 139 games.
Etem put up 92 in 119.
Etem also put up more impressive numbers in juniors, while admittedly I haven't watched much Etem I don't see how the comparison sticks. - belcherbd
He also had a solid playoffs for Anahiem last year
Edit: agree he is a project though |

He plays a similar game to Jensen, maybe slightly more talented offensively, but refuses to go to the net and his skating isn't that great. The reason he's got more points then Jensen is because until he got traded, Etem played with DSP (Devon Smith-Pelly) who did most of the work on his line for him. - DariusKnight
I don't think you have watched Jensen much all if you think those are his weaknesses.
Jensen does the right things and has all the tools but hasn't been able to live up to his offensive potential. If you watch some Utica games you will see that he is often the most noticeable player on offense but can't seem to convert enough of his many chances. Is a good fore checker and while doesn't have big hits, certainly uses his size to protect the puck.
He isn't great in his own zone but isn't a liability either.
I haven't watched much of Etem so all I am going off is his stat line in the AHL.

Or we could package him with Edler and get 2x 1rnd picks and we sign 2 7/8 D and play D by committee and then we....I forgot what I was saying. |

Edit. Sorry that sounds condescending, what you described as his weaknesses, doesn't jive with what I have noticed is likely a better way of putting it.

If we get Etem, it's a lateral move, Etem isn't an upgrade and I don't see the Rangers taking Higgins or Burrows off of our hands for us. If we do get him and the trade does end up being Jensen for Etem, I'd consider that equal value. Etem is just Jensen with more NHL games played. - DariusKnight
Etem has more upside than Jensen. That's a win for the Canucks. Add in The MH connection and history with Shink and its worth a move. I highly doubt the Rangers want Jensen though. He is a depth player at best |

Off-topic but hilarious:
Jets fans will be wearing track suits at the MTS Centre when Evander Kane plays his first game there as a member of the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. HAH!

If I remember correctly Etem was one of the names brought up constantly in the Kesler trade. Maybe Jim has a thing for him |

What are your thoughts of trading Edler and playing Weber and Bart for 20 mins a game? |

I hope he trades AV favourite Alex Burrows. That is a much harder contract to move |

Do you think it is very likely that Burrows goes on a bit of run if Hansen is injured for awhile?
