We will be fine. Have you noticed that every injured player we have is on Day to Day and not LTIR? I believe the CBA allows for ateam to put a player on LTIR if they missed more then 10 games. The cap is prorated. When we put Hammer and Sbisa in LTIR plus other players we will get the space we need. - Linden_4_Capt
I don't think Sbisa can go on, Hamhuis hasn't been put on but Sutter has.

I am one of few Rangers fans that will miss Etem and believe he never got a fair shake. Constantly playing on a line with Tanner Glass who only allows his line mates to never have the puck. I don't know what management and AV thought Etem could do in the press box or on the fourth line. Anyway I hope he succeeds with you guys and he turns it around.
I can't believe Gormley cleared. Should have picked him up and traded someone else. save the money - manvanfan
When ARZ and COL give up on a player who's career has been a disappointment since draft day (he fell from a projected 7th or 8th overall to like 13th) I think there's more to the story that people inside the game would be privy to, and us armchair gms talking out of our collective ass are not.

I think he was projected like top 5 ish by some too. Most of the D from that round really haven't panned out.
Fowler is the best and Pysyk comes in at 2. Faulk is probably the best from that year and he was a 2nd rounder.
If the plan is to move Higgins and give Etem his spot, then this is more a push for a playoff spot move. If Etem can lace his own skates then he's already an improvement over Higgie
Trading one low impact, disappointing pick for another. Pretty ho hum and one that won't likely impact or improve either team much I would think. - AlexF
The games I seen Etem he had some offence. He drove the net and had some dangle.

Apparently Shattenkirk available.. thoughts? Pursue a trade there? - CamoToe
The only way I see that happening is in a "hockey deal" and I don't think the Canucks have the quality for that.
Then again if they were looking just to clear future money for a Backes extension then maybe Hamhuis is their guy but I have no idea what other pieces would need to be included.

If he did, he wouldn't have been traded to Vancouver for Jensen and a 6th rounder. I will admit he did seem promising at one point while at ANA. Not sure if the issue was mental or simply a limited skillset at the NHL level.

I didn't see him play on the Rangers aside from when he played us. I did mean when he was with ANA

Just spitballing, but could be a case that his speed is too much for AHL defenders to handle but not the same case in the NHL. Kinda like how Ted Ginn tore up college because he could just outrun everyone but NFL corners were faster and stronger.
So what do you think of the trade? Seems like a low risk move? - VANTEL
Can't complain at all, especially if the pick is indeed a 6th or 7th round. The only potential negative I can see is that he is waiver eligible so it might mean we see less of Gaunce, Grenier, Shinkaruk, Kenins etc.
