The Vancouver Canucks now have every Medicine Hat Tigers leading scorer from between 09-10 to 13-14 somewhere in their system. - belcherbd
I don't know how official it was but I read something a couple weeks about that made it sound as if Tyler Ennis is available, although not like he's being actively shopped, too.

I won't shed many tears over Grenier either - Lindenis#1
It will only bother me if, Etem is garbage but is blocking a young player from getting the opportunity if they have earned it. This happened a bit with Vey last year and some argued the same with Baertschi early this year.
The only way I see that happening is in a "hockey deal" and I don't think the Canucks have the quality for that.
Then again if they were looking just to clear future money for a Backes extension then maybe Hamhuis is their guy but I have no idea what other pieces would need to be included. - Lindenis#1
Vrbata, 2016 2nd from Columbus and 2017 1st? They're looking for offense. Not sure if Vrbata gets it done though.

I don't see that being an Etem problem. I see that as Prust-Higgins problem.
Getting anything resembling an everyday NHLer out of Etem is a win. If he can turn into Jannik Hansen (useful top9 player) then its great.
Etem has some really good wheels. Remember when Kes got traded he was on everyone's wish list. Well we got him. So far JB has been doing ok with his trades. Sven is turning out nice. I see Vey creating a good many chances .
We need to be patient with these young guys. Look at Hutton , he makes mistakes but so far has been a good learning year. Markstrom finding his stride. You wanted the smaller skilled forwards and JB is finding a way to bring them in.

Sure but I don't think this mgmt group will be waiving any vets so unless they are moved it still equates to the same thing.
we dont have 2016 CBJ pick. It's any year 2016-2018 at their discretion, and you can damn well guarantee if they finish last they wont be shipping the 31st overall pick this way

I'll agree that he has been targeting skilled players, which is great but all those players have been waiver eligible. Today's deal is more palatable to me than some of the others he has done.
Regardless of how Etem turns out, I think Benning deserves praise for this move.

With Sven taking over the second spot and Danny has the number one spot I would think Etem will be handed the third spot which hopefully means goodbye to # 20

Oh thought it was 2016. Makes sense though. Trying to think of a package that's legit but maybe we just don't have the pieces to make something happen.

The writing is on the wall for underperforming vets

It's 2016 or 2017 Columbus's choice...not 16,17 or 18
I don't understand this trade...two players of equal value and Benning, yet again, throwing away picks in a trade. The guys a (frank)in moron! - LeftCoaster
