I can't say for sure because he's being so subtle, but I'm starting to get the impression that he's not the biggest fan of WD. - CubanBuffet
ya think, I've started to scratch my head over some of WDs decisions but the thing is he's the coach and I'm the armchair coach, I think he trumps me |

Dorsett is averaging 12:52 TOI this season. There are 9 forward who are averaging more, though one of those is Vey who has only played 8 games. You're buying in to those ass-hat advanced stat guys schtick too much.
EDIT - there is actually only one guy (forward) on the team who is averaging less then Dorsett who I'd like to see more of, which is Baertschi - 1970vintage
Vey is building steam. I know he gets a hard time in here, but I like what I am seeing. |

We need a new goat. Higgins is so yesterday. - Marwood
I swear, Bo and Sven started to roll when they decided to stop giving Vrbata the puck. He's floating out there. |

Was just saying that Vey isn't a "regular" yet, because he hasn't played many games this season. So there are 8 regulars ahead of Dorsett in average TOI. The guys who average fewer minutes are Prust, Cracknel, Baertschi, Virtanen, McCann and the call ups like Gaunce, Kenins etc. |

Any update on Sutter? I think the lineup will look a lot more solid once he's back. |

For the past 40 years we've been complaining that the team never had enough depth at forward to be able to ice 4 lines, to balance out the ice time, and too much pressure was being put on the first line. Now the 4th line is averaging about 12 minutes per night and we're female doging that the ice time is being spread out too much and we should be riding the top players more, even though they are almost 100 years old. - 1970vintage
They are a pretty mediocre team playing pretty mediocre hockey. It has been hard to watch at times but I think WD deserves some credit considering how banged up they are. |

It's his 5vs5 icetime that continues to be an issue, as Botchford has been posting in his Provies, that's the issue not his total icetime. You have to break it down rather than blanket it with total icetime.
Edit: I see I said total ice on a previous post, meant even strength. That said, he's actually 6th in TOI for forwards. |

Either or of them would be nice on that line. Id like Jake there and Etem on the 4th line with Vey and Dorsett |

Etem on the fourth is a waste of speed unless your fourth line is Etem McCann Jake. |

With it being a medicine hat line they would get enough icetime to be there second line, but I like the idea of etem McCann and jake better.
On a side note i hope Vrbata can go with the Sedins, hes no help to Horvat/Baert |

He doesn't play on the PP, and he barely plays the PK, so where else is he going to get ice time? Did you read the blog over at CA by Graphic Comments about firing WD? The justification is this magic stat about trailing by a goal, and how Dorsett leads all skaters when the Canucks are down. But, it doesn't put that stat into perspective. For instance, how many minutes have the Canucks played? How many of those were from behind? I bet the Canucks have played more minutes down by a goal then up by a goal...
If you can demonstrate that in the last 2 minutes of a game, when down by a goal, Dorsett is the leading TOI forward then maybe I start to buy the BS a little more, but no one has so far.
You of all people should know that what you can see from the bench during a game is far different then what you see on TV, or in a Boxcar. I'm not saying I have full confidence in WD to be the guy to lead this team to a championship, or he's a terrible coach. Only that this team is performing about how we expected them to, which is middle of the pack. I would go so far as to say that WD has actually exceeded my expectations for the year so far based on the players he has had available to him, and given the significant injuries the team has sustained. |

I hope Vrbata is gone in a month. Take what you can get.
I am hoping that WD and JB are planning beyond the Sedins. I really didn't like Burrows on that line. Hansen or Sutter is who they need. They need speed.
They will be gone soon and I amlooking forward to the new era.
I like the new found Bo and Sven . We need to now build around Vey and McCann. JV will be good even though he had a weak tournament .
This year's draft will be important.
But it is time to plan Vancouver without the twins |

Totally. As vantel was mentioning, them and JV back together right now would be good for JV. That line is just a good mix. |

I hope when Sutters back hes on their line, Bo is starting to look comfortable at second line center, and i liked Sutter with the Sedins.
This draft is important, but Benning has had a two good drafts its looking like so i can see the third to be the same
