I still don't think D is what we should be targeting. The question that needs to be asked is do we think our top 6 forwards can break out of their slump. If that answer is yes then we sit tight. If the answer is no, we need to ask if this is a fixable problem with the resources we have this season. If that answer is no, we sell. If not, we need to be targeting top 6 LWs not defensemen.

They need to stop falling over themselves to pick up the guy that's available and start targeting guys who are the right fit to help their team.

They've been like a guy with strep who is supposed to go to the Doctor and get a diagnosis and prescription, but instead goes to Wal Mart and buys some cough drops.

Okay people... two things.

1: Why the (frank) are some people butthurt about win and we are back in the playoffs (if the season suddenly ended) lose and we're not? Weren't we 9 points out or so in December and things looking REALLY bad? Being right on the cusp of the playoff teams with half the season left is (frank)ing great considering how much of a cluster(frank) this season has been.

2: If you don't like this guy too much, but hate Cole.. why not do a damn swap? We have cap for once in the last decade... he could use a change of scenery and come out here hot, and worst comes to worse, we lose ~150K in cap space this year and 300K in cap space next year, for a Dman not living up to the contract potential. This isn't taking on 1mil+ in a Daley type trade (as in Daley for Cole scenario, not the Godsend of shedding Scuds), its a minor net gain in cap space for a guy quickly falling out of favor here.

And yes, Jakub is a LEFT HANDED Dman

It would be real nice to get the first goal today - any chance of that?

Sheesh Kessel. Farnham would have potted both of those.

Kessel flubbed two wide-open nets on the PP, including one of the worst attempts at a one timer I've ever seen.

Another assist sid doesnt get...and ppl say he has been bad his year. .I argue if idiot phil could bury half of the wide open nets sid fed him this year...sid would be leading the team in points and be up near the top of the league

Well, I don't hate Cole, but I believe that a pairing of Daley and Kindl would be a nightmare defensively, especially against the physical teams of the Metropolitan.

Kissel is worthless. Every time they cut to him on the bench after a shift he's the only one with his head between his knees. So out of shape its not even funny. Id love to see what Gary Roberts had to say about him.

In fairness to his fitness...his head is buried after every shift because damn near every shift this so called sniper cannot hit a god damned wide open net

RW has probably seen very little of Kindl actually playing, if at all before today.

- Pens_Burgh

In RW's world you don't actually WATCH the games, you just digest the stats and look at charts for 3 hours after the game is done

Their situations are similar - first round picks who couldn't get consistent playing time with the team that drafted them for a long time.

But stylistically they're polar opposites.

Perrob raises that pick up and it's potted. Why do we continue to make goalies look like all stars?

At this point I'd trade Perron for a medium sized plank of wood Crosby can use to bank shots in off of. How many chances does this guy need?
