It's funny how different teams threads mirror each other. Go into the Isle thread, Taveras sucks and is a bad leader. Sounds familiar. - MJL

Wow Coots is playing like a monster the last few games and the chemistry with B.Schenn is very exciting.
Great to see those two get rewarded on the point sheet as of late. - Chris48
very nice to see. I was losing patience with both of them. Hopefully they've found their confidence and never look back, much like Jake did after a few seasons of being snake bit. |

Weal has been here for all of 1 game. Unless this guy is guaranteeing us wins, then I don't see the need to force him in there. I think they're just letting him get a few practices in and seeing what Flyer should be sitting if/when they're ready to slot him in. |

also we're playing against some of the better teams in the NHL right now scouts want to see what players like Umberger, Schultz, Streit, etc can do right now against playoff bound teams |

Islanders can use the excuse they didn't play well all they want. In my view the Flyers simply gave them an ass whupping. From the opening faceoff. - MJL

Bill, what are thoughts on the latest Byfuglien rumors? Would it be a good or bad move? Would the Flyers do it and how much do you think they would give? Thx - Flyerskeptic
The reality: there is virtually zero chance the Flyers trade for Byfuglien. As a UFA this summer, perhaps there might be interest. He's still a polarizing player.

A trade for Byfuglien during this season makes as much sense as trading Ivan Provorov for Michal Rozsival.
The Flyers are not a serious contender and just traded two veterans for a prospect and draft pick. Hextall realizes where they are, and more importantly, what adding Byfuglien entails.
Even adding him as a free agent this summer, unless Streit and Medvedev are both elsewhere, is foolish. I'm a big proponent of Byfuglien, but there's no way I'm interested in him on a huge long term deal. If the numbers leaked earlier this year are the cost to sign Byfuglien as a UFA, then I have zero interest him. |

I recall him wanting 7 years/$50mm.
Given Byfuglien's size and propensity for showing up to camp in less than stellar shape, there's no way I give a guy his age a deal longer than 3-4 years and even that long bugs me. |
