The deal has to be right. Getting another first rounder would be nice. I think eyes have to be on 17-18 for when we will start to see the benefits of Hextall. - J35Bacher
There in lines the issue. If we are looking 17-18 to be our year to start really becoming a threatening team then I say streit must be moved now. He isnt in our plans in 17-18 and if we can get a 1st rounder we will be lucky to see that prospect in 17-18. I say move him now at the tfl and get picks to keep filling up our minors because these elc are going to be great with the already two anchors we have under contract. love g and jake but the contracts are a bit long and have a high cap hit. All we need is a d man making more then they should be paid and we become the pens.

I wouldn't call them anchors. It's going rate for players like Voracek and Giroux. Couturier's new deal could be a steal if he can be a 2nd line center and still play good defense like he does.
I do think they should move Streit this TDL, more so because he is getting older and had that injury so not sure I want another year incase something happens, but I don't give him away. The deal has to be right.
I am absolutely gutted. Here is his best performance ever......

Much like Lemmy, Bowie was a guy who you never expected to see leave us. Bowie defied definition in style or genre. He was just amazing and enduring. RIP & thanks for the amazing legacy
I'd sell a guy under contract for next season if it brought a very good return. If Somebody offered a Coburn value deal for Streit, I'd probably take it. Otherwise, I'd hang onto him.
Now, for pending UFAs, if it's a guy I'd prefer keeping I'd try to get a deal done. But if it wasn't close on terms or cash, then sell them for the best price you can get. - Jsaquella
I would take a 1st only for streit at this deadline

I saw him perform with nine inch nails in Hershey the same night that flyers and caps played a pre season game there, 95 I think it was.
A bit shocked too about the cancer.
He was a visionary artist & had an immense effect on that era.
Met Bowie briefly at AIR studios in London April 1972 when Mott the Hoople was recording the Young Dudes album which he produced and wrote some material for. I had to run an acoustic guitar down there for Mick Ralphs for an overdub.
As a 20 year old meeting this wild legendary guy, I was a bit overwhelmed - Bowie had 2 different color eyes, was wearing a blue mandarin quilted jacket, pants with mushroom prints all over and large wooden dutch type shoes.
There were so many questions I wanted to ask about songwriting and his "persona" but it was other business that day. - Steelmanpa
I don't know what any of this means, I suppose it's some form of Mandarin/Cyrillic combination. Very cool that you had a run-in, and surprised that you remember his dress so well. Although I guess something crazy like that stays with you.

I worked behind Sigma studios and saw DB get out of a limo and heard him recording live...what a memory

That's a good point, I don't give him away but it would be nice to get a guy who can be in the minors for a year or two and then bring him up, rather then next year drafting a guy who will take longer, especially if they can get5 an offensive stud. If they were going to draft defense then we can afford to wait and keep another guy in the pipeline, but if they take offense we want them up sooner. Still, need to get the right return.
Just realized next game is Boston. First meeting since the Rinaldo hit. I know it's not much but wonder if there is anyone who goes with Rinaldo. With the way this team seems to be more protective of each other, was just curious. Not a huge deal. Just maybe something fun to watch.
Watched the first two periods of the game then sat in the parking lot to listen to the show. I remember "I'm afraid of Americans" being the best song that night.

Woke up this morning and hit FB on my phone and all it was was memories of Bowie. Sad times right now, Wieland, Lemmy, Natalie Cole, David Bowie. Such different but great artists all gone within a short time.

This team has no one I want to see fight Rinaldo. I hope they try to hit him and mess with him.
