Freidman says Vrbata on the trade block - VANTEL
When, who?
I am glad... but its early to trade him. They could get a late 1st or 2nd for him. Hamhuis too. Higgins will get you a coupon for double airmiles if you get the premium gasoline and not the regular stuff.

how is it a waste of singing buff? You offer no explanation.
Someday hutton will be better than them yes....not yet.
the posted lineup is a def huge upgrade from the current - SMBDragon
My post was explanation. You have sbis and biega, a 5/6, as our 3/4. Why sign a top pairing dman if you downgrade the rest of your dmen. We need either tanev of hamonic in our top 4 or we still suck. That is a waste of signing buff. |

He said panthers are interested and it would likely be Pirri + 2nd for Vrbata. |

HIGGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not let the the door hit you on the way out.
Waste of a roster spot.
Makes Jim Sandlak look passionate about the game.
He was a signing of Gillis and I remember when Higgins was a Hab, he mentioned publicly how much he liked him, but by the time we got him off the Panthers he was already on the downside of the offense and we just do not need another and another and another third line winger who will not fight, go into corners or pee standing up. - Beatle_john

They're not tanking they're shaming Higgins publicly in the hopes he leaves town on his own. |

Honestly ------ HONESTLY ---- does anyone in their right mind think moving Higgins out reveals a tank philosophy? We are far better without him. Crap, if FIN the mascot played his position we would be better.

There not trying to shame him. There trying to get anyone to take him. If they wanted him too leave. They only had to put him on waivers...poof he's gone. I think JB is trying his best to keep Higgins in the nhl. |

Agreed.
This rather public move show's JB is trying to move him, plus puts pressure on him to throw out the limited ntc.
Now his agent is working the phones trying to find a home for Higgy Bear.
I think if the obvious places wanted him (NYI/Mtl) it would have been done by now.
Which team needs a middling vet, PK presence??
? Edmonton...i dunno. |

Caps maybe though they just signed Richards. Dallas, Minnesota, Nashville, Florida, Tampa, Boston maybe? Just thinking teams who think they could make a run and you need depth for that.
I think retaining salary is a no brainer for the Canucks to maximize a return. 1) if they end up waiving him, they save $900k on the cap, but end up spending the whole $2.5m plus whatever a replacement player costs. B) If they buy him out, they pay 2/3 of his full salary over two years and it counts against the cap, plus whatever a replacement player costs. 3) If they retain half his salary, they pay only $1.25m plus whatever a replacement player costs, and they might be able to get a draft pick, or waiver exempt prospect in return. |

I think JB is done putting in the work, you don't hand it over to the agents if there's still calls to make. No one is interested and I don't think the team wants to hold salary, it's Utica and a buy out this summer for Higgins.
It says even your agent can't find a place for you |
