14 mil can buy you secondary scoring - VANTEL
Who's going to be on the market? Just buy a whole line and assume they will develop chemistry? The twins won't resign for $7/year, but depending on their productivity level at the time and the role I could see $5/year each give or take a million. If some youth can supplant them in the top 6, then they are viable 3rd line players and PP specialists
EDIT: I trust Linden, JB and the twins to go for whats best for the organization on this. Same way Naslund moved on, I think the twins wouldn't stay nor would management make the move if they felt their role should be bigger or get paid more |

I think what Schenn could offer is some toughness on the backend which team lacks a lot. - fiveandagame
We can have Weber at 1.5-2 or Schenn 2.5 -3.
Schenn also has a good shot, aside from being tough. He can move people from the front.
We don't have anyone in our system on the right side other than Neill who won't be ready for 2-3 years.
The UFA pool is slim unless you go all in for Byf |

Have you watched any philly games? the guy is a liability. He's exactly like last year Sbisa, out of position all the time and throwing big hits when he should be covering the lane. - neem55
Not every teams system is right for every player. We have no idea what philly asks of him as a player. Baertchi wasn't a fit for Calgary , with a hug and a long leash from Willie he is turning into a serviceable player for us. |

I'm more concerned about replacing Hamhuis. I know he is having a rough year, but we will losing a reliable top 4 d man that eats a lot of big minutes. |

Hamhuis is a free agent July 1. We trade him at the deadline for good return, July 1 ask him if he wants to come back for say 2.5 x3. Win win. Get assets and keep the only dman we have worth mentoring the young guys |

That would be a huge hometown discount. With the current UFA market I think he will get a couple lucrative offers. |

Wow . Vancouver fans really have a problem of letting go.
Hamhuis before injured was constantly getting beat on the outside. His foot speed has diminished . I don't care about his Corsi or possession numbers. If you do the eye test you can see he is slow. You can get younger cheaper bigger.
I think Benning would rather go with Bartowski or a younger FA than give Hamhuis a new contract.
His agent says there has been no talks and Benning saying we have about 15 mil in cap space makes me think he is not reconsidering to offer a new contract. |

Didn't say we should...just sayin it's an option. Personally I want a first and the cap space for him |

I think Biega has earned a new contract somewhere around 1.5 . He would fit in fine at top 4. Very smart player decent hockey player |

I agree...and at that rate I'd offer him 3-4 years and hope he bites on if for the security of not going back to the AHL. |

We have Edler Biega Sbisa Hutton and Pedan on the left. I don't think they need another one.
I left out Bartowski.
We need to work on the RH side |

Hamhuis with a broken ankle playing with a right shot stick wearing welding goggles is better then Bartkowski.
On a cheap deal as a bottom pairing veteran Hamhuis would be very valuable. They can't all be kids.
I'd love a trade and resign, rinse and repeat every year.
