In an ideal world yes...but given his age he'd either want a short fat contract or longer deal.
maybe
3 years x 8.5
or
6 years x 7 - dbot
You don't want t offer a guy whose discipline for fitness is the Dunkin Donuts Diet ad beer a 7 year deal. |

If we trade higgins, buy out burrows, and dont re-sign weber/bart. We could theoretically afford byf and stam.

That's a nice looking lineup.
But Big Buff has to be #1.
Might move Edler if we could.

If we signed buff and tryamkin comes we could technically then afford to move tanev for a nice pick
edler - buff (id rather have buff in front of net than edler)
hutton - Biega
Sbisa - pedan
tryamkin
tanev + for hamonic is another possibilty someone suggested before |

Then
Sedins-sutter
Shink-stankos-etem/jv
Baer-horvat-etem/jv
Gaunce-McCann-dorsett
Something like that. Trade hansens as well in this scenerio. |

Umm you dont have tanev or hamonic in your above scenerio. Do we trade them for picks/prospects? |

If you read closer you see Both suggestions had tanev gone....so it is why he's not there....if you read the post and not just the lineup youd see I mentioned tanev for a pick in the 1st line....
AFTER the posted lineup I mentioned another possible is to move tanev + for hamonic (RHD).
do you see it now? |

Yes i missed it. Biega isnt top4 imo. He is a #5 at best. We need either tanev or hamonic in our top 4. |

I am a huge Tanev fan. I think he's under rated because he doesn't put up points like other top 4 defensemen. He's by far the best out of everyone in our own zone, is tops in the league in blocked shots and moves the puck well when transitioning to offense.
I would have been ok if they traded him for johansen but that's a whole other can of worms. If JB can trade him and dump Higgins at the same time for Hamonic then I'll personally hire a beautiful young woman from the back pages of the Georgia Straight to fellate him in his office for an hour. Ironically it would cost about the same as going to the game |

I actually thought pedan was a better fit alongside hutton but biega probably better responsibility wise on pair 2 then pedan.
OK so
edler - buff
sbisa - beiga
hutton - pedan
tryamkin
that balances size and toughness so there is some in each pairing, with seniority getting the higher pairing. Edler - buff with most size / experience pairing gets tough assignments |

Yes I like him too. but sometimes thing need to be done. I'm sure edler would be better if not needing to guard net....buff is great at that.
Or if it brought hamonic |

And why....would Stamkos and Buff want to come play here? They can play anywhere they want...why go to a team heading to the bottom of the league? |

That would be a waste of signing buff. Biega and sbisa are bottom pairing men. Hutton is closer to top 4 than they will ever be. Tanev and hutton or hamonic and hutton would have be top 4 or our defense stays trash. |

You never know what someone is thinking. Sometimes a player falls in love with a city and decides to play for that team. You never know. It is not very likely, but vancouver is a city players often like coming to. |

how is it a waste of singing buff? You offer no explanation.
Someday hutton will be better than them yes....not yet.

HIGGINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not let the the door hit you on the way out.
Waste of a roster spot.
Makes Jim Sandlak look passionate about the game.
He was a signing of Gillis and I remember when Higgins was a Hab, he mentioned publicly how much he liked him, but by the time we got him off the Panthers he was already on the downside of the offense and we just do not need another and another and another third line winger who will not fight, go into corners or pee standing up.
