I think hes going to be a good player never going to be a superstar. not trying to be negative here just my opinion - MCGUIZZY
I think Drouin is going to end being the same, as in good but not great.
That is most definitely my opinion only though. |

We have essentially the same perspective.
If I am going to trade someone like Girgensons, it is not going to be until after I have found out exactly where I am drafting, and maybe not even until I have made my first round pick, as it is likely after that where I will know for sure what I need, meaning top pair D help, with relation to what I am stocked at, meaning top 6-9 forwards. - kingcong39
Right, if we finish last or even second last, odd favor us picking 1-4. We have two glaring holes, a top pairing defensemen to pair with Risto, and a scoring winger to play with Eichel, RoR. Picking 1-4 should solve one of those problems. Trading Gus away just opens up a new hole in who is going to shut down the oppositions top line. It like Larsson in that role, but he can not in anyway do it consistently throughout a game, Girgensons is the only one who's proven he can. |

I expected him to be a 2:1 ration of assists to goals, I think that will happen when we get better goal scoring from the top lines - homiedclown
I see a young David Krejci in Reinhart. I would love it if he could have a similar career. To me that is best case scenario for Reinhart. Really nice player but not exactly a superstar |

Thats fair. I personally see drouin to have a slightly higher upside. At least offensively |

My view is that I agree with you offensively but overall Reinhart will be better player all around. |

I'll take it though. His game is improving on a team that has substandard talent and is struggling. Drouin is having problems contributing on a team with a bunch of talent, and has been sent down to the A to learn how to play a team game which includes D.
Point is, one is realizing his potential, the other is relying on his potential. Big difference. |

While I agree he needs to work on his defense (the case with most young players) I would argue that his production has been pretty solid considering hes been playing 4th line minutes. He put up 28 assists in 70 games last season (second only to stamkos) as a rookie playing on the fourth line. Reinhart has put up 7 assists in 42 games so far playing in the top 6 |

Eh...I don't know, take a look at this, for a Goal Scoring sniper, I like the look of the 2nd line

Not sure where you are getting "Goal Scoring sniper" as a label for Drouin. Idk its kind of silly to keep going on about it. Just pointing out that he was producing in a much lesser role. You said he was struggling to produce which i dont necessarily think is the case |

40 points in first 89 games, bouncing around the bottom 3 lines
not bad numbers
only 6 goals was surprising

Yes. I like Sam, but I don't think he ever scores more than 70 and likely will be a 50-60 point player at his prime. - Zschalberg
Do you know how many players actually scored 70 points last year?
hint: It was less than 20. |

Cherry picking, suppressing evidence, or the fallacy of incomplete evidence is the act of pointing to individual cases or data that seem to confirm a particular position, while ignoring a significant portion of related cases or data that may contradict that position. |

oh my
nothing like getting a dig on a kid less then 24 hours after a hatty
skunk got a hatty in his 51st game in the nhl
is that the quickest for a sabre drafted to get a hatty in the blue and gold? - homiedclown
That's not a dig, it's being realistic. I don't see him being an 80-100 point player with the way the NHL is trending in low scoring and the fact that he's a good, and not a great player. I don't see him in the same light as Ovechkin, Crosby, Towes, Kane, Stamkos, etc. I see him as a pretty good player that will help us win.
I gotta think that others (70s and 80s guys) did it faster but that's a great question. |

That's fine. And I don't think Sam will anytime soon. If he does it I'd expect it to be in 2-3 years. He would need to take another big step forward to reach it. That doesn't mean I think he's going to consistently be top 20 in the NHL. Sorry.

Well even if he is close to that, that is pretty good. LMAO. You are saying he is going to be GOOD not GREAT but will be better than 9 other teams #1 guy??? Ill take it. |

Figuring there is only 5 guys that were 80-90 and 0 that were over 90.... yeah those expectations would be a bit high..... |
