Hahaha I wouldn't dought mass suicide. Just wondering if your yzerman at the moment don't you have to look for some sort of trade for him. You can't loose Stammer for nothing.
- Mr.FunFacts

Only thing is Stammer has a no trade. If he wants to stay in tampa for one more kick at the can and then walk for nothing in July that's exactly what he'll do.

Look for me if he were to stay in tampa he would have signed an extension right after the finals, who doesn't sign an extension after reaching the finals if they like where there at makes no sense to me. I believe he wants to play in a hockey crazy city. Toronto is indeed a hockey crazy city. Even though i hate to admit it.

fair enough.

for me, it's hard to know what he's thinking. he is only 25. it's entirely possible he hasn't made up his mind on the biggest career decision of his life.

i just don't think it's good business for TB to have this overhanging their playoff run. so if they sign him, it should be before the deadline.

One would have to think he's exploring trade at this point...That said maybe Steve willing to take his chances and hope he's more value for a playoff run in the spring...

Ya you can't blame tampa for looking at trade options. Its a really tough scenario can make or break a team.

Is this really an ongoing saga? What free agents have they missed out on recently? Brad Richards????

Didn't they just sign the most sought-after coach in the league?

Hard to imagine him not wanting to resign after TB was just in the Stanley Cup. They'll pony up the money for him. I agree with the poster who said they don't want this as a distraction during their playoff push. Pay the man.

Do you think Tampa may not want to sign him. That's a lot of money and they have some Rfa coming up. They may feel the money may be better spent else where. Not saying that's what their1 thinking but you have to wonder why this has not been settle yet.

Stamkos will get the richest contract in Hockey. Whether he is worth it or not will come down to if he can stop regressing like he has since the injury. Its been 100 games now. He looks worse every year.

Tampa Fans....would you agree that he hasn't been the same player for a while now? I watch every TB game on nights when they play before the Oilers which is a lot, and if everyone gets a second team I'd probably claim them as mine. I'd like to hear a fan's opinion who see's them live and watches every games opinion.

I think they would have liked to but have come to accept the fact that he's bolting, no pun intended, he might of told them he won't be returning, who knows...

They don't want to or they would have. They don't have it or they would have. Plain and simple.

One scenario could be that Stamkos is pissed TB try to low ball him after taking them to the SCF. So now, and because of the NTC, he is waiting for FA to get the $ he thinks he deserves.

Toronto would be very interested in paying him that money. They have the Cap space and Toronto is Stamkos' favorite team.

I think TB screwed the pooch by low balling him and Jon Cooper as a coach isn't helping them either.

Toronto is a very real possibility. Babcock is a coach players want to play for. Not saying 100% but if there is this kind of logic to it, then I'm sure Stamkos can find the logic too.

I'd beg to differ. Tampa will never match what he'll get in FA, they can't.
