Came home from the game and wanting to watch highlights. Sportsnet is showing a special on the blue Jays new reliever Storen and then a piece on the raptors. Sports centre is doing a college football recap.

Meh, who really cares what Thorton says? The guy played 9 minutes last night and recorded and single hit. The only impact he had on the game was to fire up the Sedins before OT.

What I'm saying is this. Hockey Canada (and likely other countries associations) spend a lot of resources on teaching kids (and parents) how to behave in a competitive environment. In Canada the program is called Respect In Sport. This same mentality is enforced in schools etc. For instance, calling someone gay, or a girl, is no longer tolerated. NHL players are role models for for our youth. So let's have Thorton on TSN Off the Record, and then surprise him by having a pair of high profile sports sisters like the Williams sisters on the show to call him out. Lets see that big brain of his get him out of that.

Hey, remember last year when the Flames beat the Canucks in the playoffs? Then, in the off season the Flames made all these "great" moves, and the Canucks GM shat the bed. Some said, "yeah, the Flames made some good moves, but last year they played from behind all season and won't be able to win as many of those games as they did last year". At the exact half way point the Flames are on pace for 80 points, and a bottom 5 finish, while the Canucks are on pace for 84 points, pretty much where most of us expected they would be.

Star Wars was absolutely Horrible.. One of the most over hyped movies ever.

BTW - Its hard to place blame on Jagr last night for that Etem penalty. What is Gallant doing throwing out Jagr when Willie send out two kids in Etem and Vey. Can't fault Jagr on that one as that is all father time right there.

Wow dude little harsh? All modern blockbusters are over-hyped not much we can do about that. What did you expect it to be?

It was MUCH better than the prequels and a step in the right direction. Sure it wasn't perfect and was very formulaic but still...well done. It had a nice retro feel (which was the intent) and wasn't over-CGI'd like the prequels. The only real beef I had with it was they could have casted a bit better for the Fin character and a few story gaps but other than that it was a solid 8/10. Nowhere near as good as Empire Strikes Back of course bit I thought it was a refreshing take.

I'm surprised that sportsnet hasn't done a Canucks in 30 for pacific and a flames/oilers in 30 for west etc like they did with the Jays ....rather than wait for your highlights you can just watch that
