Wow dude little harsh? All modern blockbusters are over-hyped not much we can do about that. What did you expect it to be?
It was MUCH better than the prequels and a step in the right direction. Sure it wasn't perfect and was very formulaic but still...well done. It had a nice retro feel (which was the intent) and wasn't over-CGI'd like the prequels. The only real beef I had with it was they could have casted a bit better for the Fin character and a few story gaps but other than that it was a solid 8/10. Nowhere near as good as Empire Strikes Back of course bit I thought it was a refreshing take. - LordHumungous
I stand by that. I really did not enjoy the story behind it. If you have not seen a star wars prior, then yes it was full of action, fast paced, and great visual effects. I thought the story was a bit cheesy, the characters were given way too much so that the audience would take to them quickly, and I thought it did not do justice to the history of Star Wars. The entertainment factor was there, but I just did not like it.

I seen (for VANTEL) A New Hope in the theatre in '77, have seen all the films dozens of times and remain a fan, even though the acting in some cases is horrible (that's being generous) and the plot predictable. I enjoyed the new film, it was entertaining. I thought the whole blow up the death star thing was too easy but liked the sacrifice they made. The finding Skywalker thing was rushed for me, would rather they just left that out for the next film and spent a bit longer on the defeating the foot clan, or whatever the bad guys were called... |

Because people here believe that Benning is an idiot, and so clearly losing big C to waivers must be his(JB) fault, even though the guy doesn't play here anymore, was traded by the previous GM and because Corrado was claimed off waivers... - 1970vintage
Wow...pretty extreme lengths for something that had nothing to do with the Canucks in anyway. |

I guess you weren't around when Connauton got traded for Roy. I'm pretty sure I've seen people all pissed about that trade this season suggesting he could really help the Vancouver D now, which clearly isn't the case as he's now been waived by both the Stars and Jackets. These same people like to blame Benning for their own erectile disfunction.
It's fine, you didn't get it, no big deal. |

Picture a child, dressed in a knight's armour, with a shiny steel lance atop a swollen, red, pulsing haemorrhoid.... |

Star Wars was absolutely Horrible.. One of the most over hyped movies ever.
BTW - Its hard to place blame on Jagr last night for that Etem penalty. What is Gallant doing throwing out Jagr when Willie send out two kids in Etem and Vey. Can't fault Jagr on that one as that is all father time right there. - Codes1087

And I've been around since this city was awarded the franchise, I've seen boatloads of stupid moves ....losing connoughton isn't even a ripple on the pond of stupid Canuck roster decisions. I liken it to a Jensen to New York move. He was never going to be a player anyway. Seems Dallas thinks the same. Guess nills an idiot too. |

For the blockbusters, I was surprised with Star Wars, so much better than the 3 prequels. Spectre was a bit of a disappointment for me, looking forward to a director's cut. That last Mission Impossible was what I expected, entertaining, just wish it wasn't Cruise, but he does a good job. |

There we go, now you've got it!
I was referring to these boards specifically. The hysteria around here is ongoing, just different user names, managers, coaches and players. |

Yeah. The Flames bashing post I did earlier notes, Canucks on pace for 84 points. That shouldn't be good enough for a playoff spot, but it just might be enough for third in the Pacific Division... |

Still a bad , poorly constructed team. But they are much much more entertaining to watch...and heart and confidence can take you a lot farther then you think. True test comes Thursday. See how confident they are if the caps spank em 7-1 like they did Ottawa the other night. |

I didn't mind Spectre. The last Mission Impossible was pretty vanilla; I'm pretty much done with any movie that has Tom Cruise or Jeremy Renner in it (except The Avengers because the Hulk Smashing cancels him out). The latest Mad Max movie was awesome if you haven't seen it. |
