For the blockbusters, I was surprised with Star Wars, so much better than the 3 prequels. Spectre was a bit of a disappointment for me, looking forward to a director's cut. That last Mission Impossible was what I expected, entertaining, just wish it wasn't Cruise, but he does a good job.

Agree expected more from Spectre and MI Rogue Nation was much better than the last Ghost Protocol...much better. I was disappointed with hateful 8 but I think Tarantino's best days are done.

Just watched Sicario and must say it's one of the best from last year IMO along with Fury Road. Kind of the same look/feel as No Country for Old Men very artistic lots of redeeming qualities to it. Slows down for a bit but maintains impact. Sicario was a big winner I thought.

It was a great game. Lots of skating, great passing and hardly any whistles. Even before Virtanen and Sedin scored it was an entertaining game. Lots of fun being there.
- Scooby_Doo

Really? Great passing? Lost count of how many times the pass was shot behind the player skating forward. The first two periods were like watching a classic Keystone Cops film.

It was an entertaining game with good pace though.

Never seen anything from that franchise. But my buddy who's an absolute star wars nerd said he was really disappointed.

Like I said before. If you haven't seen the old starwars and are heading into it as a semi-fan then you will be very pleased with it. It is very fast paced, great visual effects, decent casting (apart from Kylo Ren, dont get me started). If you were a big fan of the originals, then I believe you will not be satisfied as I thought they did not do the history of Star Wars justice. That is all.

Don't worry, we always show up for the good teams, we've got some bad and mediocre teams coming up here

I stand by that. I really did not enjoy the story behind it. If you have not seen a star wars prior, then yes it was full of action, fast paced, and great visual effects. I thought the story was a bit cheesy, the characters were given way too much so that the audience would take to them quickly, and I thought it did not do justice to the history of Star Wars. The entertainment factor was there, but I just did not like it.

I had very found memories of the old series....before the latest one came out I watched all the rest of them with the exception of the redundant and awful ep 1. I was surprised at how much I found ep 4-6 not quite as enjoyable as I used to....liked ep 3 the most action and depth of story wise.

Comparitively ep 7 wasnt bad when you watch the others right before. But at the time they were out they were the awesomest movies to date.

aside from looking like there was just a bunch of forwards and a good goalie on the ice I did enjoy the look of the team last night. Wish he had a D though.

I didn't mind Spectre. The last Mission Impossible was pretty vanilla; I'm pretty much done with any movie that has Tom Cruise or Jeremy Renner in it (except The Avengers because the Hulk Smashing cancels him out). The latest Mad Max movie was awesome if you haven't seen it.

Spectre seemed like they were all over the place (checking off the boxes), lots of action, but story/development stuff was lacking, even for a Bond flick. Hoping there will be a director's cut or expanded edition coming out. Didn't hate it, just wanted more.

Mission Impossible, just the quality of the stunts and how they are presented is always great, this last film was better than the previous. wasn't expecting more, just sat back and enjoyed the show.

MadMax was good too.

I just laugh whenever they talk about the Hulk, the other Avengers, in whichever movie, seems like the guy nobody really wants to deal with, the joke never gets old..

I have Sicario on disc, haven't had a chance to watch it.

watched this the other night, not bad for a made for tv movie, (Jon Snow)

loved the Spooks tv series.

Flagged lol

What is with you guys ...do you have to give up your balls to post on here as a Canucks fan?

All you do is female dog about sportsnet or TSN for being anti Canuck ...I just stated that they led with the Canucks so why female dog and moan about them showing the college football championship or probably the most popular non hockey team in Canada making a great trade ?

Maybe you need to stop off at Higgins place before he leaves to help you relax

Good game last night by the nucks tho ...glad for jake to get one right away ...and when do we see someone try and take out Miller before he returns ...markstrom has been great !
