They would do well to buy Burrows out if they can't trade him this season.
- Retinalz

Won't happen ...if they can move Higgins , they dam sure can move burrows. He can Atleast still play.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Baertschi Horvat Vrbata
Etem McCann Virtanen
Prust Vey Dorsett

Some sexiness finally to the lineup. All it took was removing Higgins.

WD wouldn't trust this line out there in a 5-0 rout

I really like Ladd but question when his big drop off in production will be.. The one positive is that so many teams are so tight up agianst the cap perhaps the salaries wont be as crazy as years past...
- mauryballstein

Ladd wants HUGE money. I really wish we got Oshie when STL made him available. Okposo consistently puts up points and would be a good addition.

I think Etem is playing with Vey and Virtanen and McCann is with Prust and Dorsett.

I think WPG resigns him, he is much more important to that team than Byfuglien and they don't have the same depth in forwards as they do in D.

I still don't think Vey is suited to the C position in the NHL but he has looked good the past couple of games.
- belcherbd

I trust Vey at center more then McCann, but both should be wingers i think

It goes against our policy of getting younger. He will be 32 next year. We are getting rid of Higgins with the main excuse being we are moving for more speed and youth in the line up.
- Codes1087

We have plenty of youth. Some experience is still valuable imo.

I agree, but Lucic is a POS both on and off so I would take the cheaper ( in salary) one.

I think Benning will go after more girt in his top 6, other options would be Doan, Brouwer, Okposa, Ladd as UFA's.

Ladd or Okposo wouldl be great but doubt it would happen. Doan would be a mistake and Brouwer would likely be my #1 choice.

- belcherbd

What i like about Lucic is he backs up his poop, Backes is a wussy who always goes after a non-fighter smaller guy. Rarely does he go after a guy who'll hand his ass to him. As you can see in the clip below, Backes goes after Cody Eakin, who's not a fighter and much smaller, until their captain Jamie Benn says that's enough and gets in their to give it to them.

Second fight is probably why Backes doesn't like to fight guys who can actually fight

I found this pretty interesting. Below is the Roster for the 2013-2014 Canucks. (Players that played at least one game for the team.) This was two years ago. There are only 9 players that are still a part of the team and Hamhuis is most likely done and the end of the season and I can't see any circumstance where Weber is still on the team. I think Burrows future is in question as well. I know Benning has made a few head scratching moves, but looking at this I think he has done a pretty good job of turning over a roster that desperately needed to be turned over and he has done all this in less then 2 years.

41 Andrew Alberts D
49 Darren Archibald RW
3 Kevin Bieksa D
7 David Booth LW
14 Alexandre Burrows RW

His production right now does not warrant the kind of money he is asking. Anyteam that takes him on is going to end up with a David clarkson type boat anchor contract.

Higgins can play still as well, 25 games does not make a career. Higgins will go on to whatever team and do fine and get a new contract and continue being a decent bottom 6 player.

His only problem here was being asked to be a 2nd liner by the coaches when the fans knew he was a 3rd liner.

Burrows will be harder to move because of his contract, history here and reputation. He is also a couple of years older. I've always been a big fan of his even though some of his antics are annoying but I don't think he can be moved.

Ya i think so too. I dont think id like to add any UFAs this year other than Zietsev. Out main issue is Defense we need to correct that I believe before add forwards so were not top heavy like the oilers. We are already hurting for roster spots up front I guess we could always look to deal for defense but that would be tough. I would really pushing hamhuis for a Dman who has a 1 or 2 years in the AHL and is knocking on the door but has big potential to be a top 4 in the near future even if we have to add a prospect or 2nd rounder. That is what i think will truly speed up the rebuild.

I think the same. Great player but those big money deals almost never work out for UFAs especially the older ones. I think within a couple years he drops burrows/higgins style.

I don't get this argument, he doesn't fight guys who can kick his butt? (that makes sense) and then you note that he actually does when he fights Benn a 2nd time.

no that's not what I'm saying I'm saying when he does try and fight its usually with a smaller player, sorry I just don't like that.

- LeftCoaster

Cookies can be rather intense if not administered cautiously and if you haven't toked in a long while than I recommend one or two puffs and then wait 10 or 15 minutes. I was at a party a few years back and an old pal was taking drags off of my joint, 1/2 an hour later people asked what I did to Paul as he was put in a car and taken home early wondering WTF happened to him.

That part i get, but at least he backes it up (see what i did there?) and goes with a much larger Benn x 2.

Once….that's a sample size of one, you realize that…right? 90% of his fights are with smaller, non-fighter type of guys.

If you can't understand that I can't help you any further

I think the last time I tried to smoke pot I was around 23 years old helping a friend move a fridge, as they were moving, his brother in-law was bugging me to try a puff with him. So I took a small puff, and then another, we carried on with the move. Well about 15 minutes later I was in the grass puking my guts out and then had a three hour nap….I said to myself, self….that's the last time you try that. And I've been good ever since
