Jordan Subban 19 pts 29 games - VANTEL
I have no issue with him trying to earn a spot in a couple years. Zietsev is 23 and playing top pairing minutes, he is years ahead of subban. If you can land him other than edler all of our Dmen would be in there mid 20s. I would then be doing whatever I could to land a guy like Bigras, Bowey, Theodore etc for hamhuis and whatever else it would take so you can start to put them in the position to eventually take over for edler so that we could deal him before the bottom falls out much the way it did with burrows and higgins. |

Sorry I am only saying keep them because I have given up ( partially) . I still want full change but won't get a long debate going - VANTEL

Bipolar club
I just want what's best for the franchise, the twins have earned every right to choose their own path forward. Keeping them to mentor these young kids is the best path forward. - LeftCoaster
Bipolar is one excuse
The other is the rookies are gaining. Less need for stupid moves |

See, now ISS has sergachev at #10, see what I mean? This could be a crazy draft, or a terrible draft rofl. - Crazybagoham
Ya as long as your top 10 your fine. If its top 5 were going with a forward I would assume and if its 5-10 there are 4 dmen that should be there. |

I was just thinking the same thing, the forwards seem VERY good (Tkachuk, Mathews, Puljujarvi, Laine) if I were in that top 5
then I'd go for CHyrchun/ Sergachev in the 5-12 spots
12-30, tbh I'd seriously go after Julien Gauthier without thinking about organization need (big heavy Right winger) I know we have a couple f those guys, but man I'm in love with this kid (I know the Q is easy to score in, but sometimes thats good for the confidence)
Prepping some nachos for the game right now! |

ZIETSEV i forgot about him, whats the word on that guy? Still interested in Van? Very interesting! especially if we can just scoop him up with our excess cap - Crazybagoham
Lots of articles about him going to Toronto a lot |

Nylander will go top 5 too. I think outside a top 10 pick I would like to add size up front our forwards are not very big. |

Unless we make playoffs, we are likely picking top 10. |

Travis Green said he needs a lot of work on his defensive side of the game but he's made some really good strides in the right direction this year.....the process. - LeftCoaster
Ive heard the same.... reinforces what Ive been saying for months....watch tape on Subban....we plays like winger and prob should be converted to wing.
Its extremely difficult for a 5'9 player to make it to NHL as a D, pretty impossible thenfor 1 that isnt great defensively. It would increase his chances to convert to wing. |

It's his first year of pro hockey....leave him alone let him cook down there and turn into an offensive force from the backend. |

NHL is trending towards speed and skill. Knuckle draggers are all but gone. We have a d man with terrific offensive instincts, and you want to turn him into linden vey? Leave him be. Let him cook. He's gonna be real good. Just won't be right away. 3 years on the farm he will be awesome |

Put a smaller dman with a bigger dman and the size won't matter |

Bowey and Theodore are pretty high end prospects and would take considerably more than just Hamhuis. I'm a big Hamhuis fan, but the return at best will be a second rounder. |

Disagree. You still have to be able to win puck battles. Spurgeon-type d-man are rare, there is room opening smaller guys, but they have to be very good with their stick and positioning which is something Subban needs to get a lot better at. |

McJesus and Couture are back, we aren't making the playoffs
I like winning/losing with the kids getting ice, should be a nice change. |

You are right, but Subban also has the strength to win puck battles. The guy is probably in better shape than anyone in the AHL. |

Agreed.
THe taller D have a longer reach and stick....which corrals opponents much easier. They cover more ground, cover more net and are easily wheel guys away from net |

Thats why I said hamhuis plus whatever it takes to get it done. We have no high end Dmen coming up, I was just using them as an example but I would really like to add one of top 10 D prospects. Luke schenn got a third, prospect and lecavalier dump. Sekera got a 1st and a 2nd round prospect in Mckeweon. Hamhuis easily gets a 1st especially if we pick up half the remaining salary to open up bidding to more teams. Hamhuis has been playing with scrubs all year or he would look much better. |
