Risto for the Byng - homiedclown
He doesn't take penalties, but he's far from gentlemanly, at least last night I noticed it a lot more, he was giving the business to Vanek all night long including some after the whistle shots to some "sensitive" areas. I like that, he needs to have a bit of a nasty edge to his game. It'll make his life a lot easier if guys think twice about going hard to the net knowing they'll take a shot from him if they do. |

The Sabresfans.com "trade God" backs up Stripes call. This guy is one of the most solid Sabres' trade callers on the net.
I'm going to bump this now.
I'm hearing rumblings of a possible three team trade involving the Coyotes....
Sabres may be involved. Stay tuned.

Yeah, I don't think they would be getting rid of anyone big names, but depending on the other team, maybe another big name from them.
I'm still not sure if Buffalo is even involved, hearing there's a chance, but who knows. I do know that Arizona is definitely up to something.
I've heard who the other team could be. Eastern Conference.

It sounds a lot like the flyers/yotes worked out something but might need the sabres to even things out? (either dollars/cap/needs etc.)

16 pts in 23 games. After all the heartache the flyers have gone through in search of d-men post pronger, i doubt he's the guy that gets moved. especially since he's injured and unless the scouts are staring at him in the press box (i dont judge) they're not looking at him. |

Schenn and a D?
edit: Not a fan of Schenn and not a fan of not getting the best player in a trade. - Slump Buster
Simmonds would be the guy I'd love to have. Obviously Giroux and Voracek too, but those guys would cost too much. Simmonds could be had for less. Think the O'Reilly deal minus the top notch defensive prospect and I think that could get him. Although I think it'd be a bit of an overpayment and it probably doesn't make sense from a Philly perspective, but McGinn and a 2nd I could be forced to part with. I'd obviously try for McGinn and 2 of the mid/late 3rds. If Philly would want to have a contract in place with McGinn, ok, because we're basically getting him, but better in Simmonds. And he's a right shot right winger, which we desperately need. But he's got a no trade, and would he realistically waive to come here? Not sure; it'd be closer to home (Scarborough, depending on traffic about a 2 hour drive, or a 45 minute helicopter ride ) For some reason I thought we traded our 2nd this year, but according to Generalfanager we have it. Whatever. |

I think if the Sabres make a deal the player they get will be 24 yrs old or younger or draft picks. Simmonds is a nice player but not the right age in my opinion and would cost a lot more than McGinn UFA or not. |

Not a lot, he scored 28 last year, which is only one off his career high, and he's on pace for 20+ goals again this year, and about 45 points which is definitely down from the last two years, but the whole team is down. The Flyers as a team are ahead of only Anaheim in goals for. |

Very true.
I still don't see how we fit in here though. A Coyotes/Flyers deal makes a lot of sense, Im not really sure what the sabres would want from philly (that is actually attainable). |

Depends on what the ask is. Even though the team got worse, he's still playing with Voracek and Giroux, and is only on pace for about 45 points. |

Hes a solid player. Does more than put up points. Girgensons is on pace for 16 points..But we know hes more valuable than his points suggest |

if it's a smaller trade, Laughton could be the name. Buried on the 4th line but has (or should have) top 6 upside. |
